Tonight is a friend’s surprise birthday party. He’s one of those that is soooo hard to but for. We decided to just get him and his partner leis. Best place to get leis is at Chinatown. Only thing wrong is it’s the start of graduation season. No selection what so ever. They had sixty maile leis at the beginning of the week, gone, nadda, zilch. Sigh. The salesperson recommended for the birthday boy a cigar lei.
No not a lei made of cigars, cigar flowers. For his partner, a marble kukuinut lei with mock orange leaves.
Salesperson said the store seldom gets the marble kukui nuts. Okay, done. It’s the thought that counts.
Off to the party. Will post about that when we get back.
Enjoy. Eat well.

Maybe you should have titled this ‘Getting Lei’d’ 🙂
Thanks, I did think about it. But then, I didn’t want to give the wrong impression. Hee hee.
He’ll love them! Have fun 😀
Thanks!
Luv the cigar flowers – so pretty
I wouldn’t have imagined it would be difficult to find lei’s there. These are gorgeous. Hope you had fun and your friend had a fantastic birthday.
Come graduation season, the demand for leis increases. 🙂
