Jus’ cleaning out the phone.

Bottle of Himalayan Salt

For the food enthusiast co-worker. Not sure if you can see the side but there’s a little wooden spoon attached. Cute ya?

Cinnamon Sweet Bread

Brought in by the same co-worker. Not super sweet (cinnamon, not cinnamon sugar).

Chinese Cold Chicken

From a “hole in the wall” Chinese take-out nearby. Not bad, some dry spots, mostly moist.

Ginger Onion Sauce

The required accompaniment. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Mouse’s Knife Practice

Thinly sliced tomato and matchstick cucumber on whole wheat toast.

Heading to another dinner at Michel’s tonight. Another chef’s choice menu. Funny, we’ve not ordered from the menu yet. Hee hee.

Happy weekend.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Went to Ross Dress for Less to look for Himalayan salt (go figure) for a co-worker (the big food enthusiast), he’s never tried the Himalayan salt.

While there, spotted this.

Jar

Partly attracted to the product because of the jar, The Mouse can reuse it later for Kauaโ€˜i salt. ๐Ÿ™‚ (Sorry, picture not so good).

The Hype

In The Mouse’s ignorance, don’t even know what “NASFT” is. (Okay, after a quick Google, it’s now known as the Specialty Food Association).

The Story?

The “test”.

Peanut Butter, Golden Fig Preserve on Wheat Bread

Not too sweet (The Mouse’s preference), still could taste fig (not only sugar), balanced the peanut butter nicely. A bit runny (light on the pectin perhaps?). Overall, a good find. Especially the jar. Hee hee.

Oh yeah, I did find my co-worker’s salt. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy. Eat well.

Sorta.

Started with this.

Box

We have sooooo much tea at home, time to start thinning the inventory. The Cat’s connections think we drink tea in SPAM land like they drink tea at home.

Tea Leaves

With tea, the normal breakfast sandwich, or toast for that matter, wouldn’t quite fit. So …

SPAM Onigiri and Japanese Rolled Omelet

The portable version of SPAM and eggs. Hee hee.

Then, boss #2 (think Star Trek: The Next Generation) brings in dim sum.

Dim Sum

Steamed dumplings, pork hash, fried seaweed and shrimp. Perfect with tea. Hee hee #2.

Another “portable version”. Hee hee #2.

The Mouse ate the dim sum plate for lunch, thank goodness for office microwaves. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy. Eat well.

Co-worker let us sample her morning “try try” (she was in the grocery store and couldn’t resist).

Salt and Vinegar Fried Chicken

Really good, sock off good. I guess some of the cuisines in SPAM Land like that salty/sour taste profile (Chinese included). ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy. Eat well.

Jus’ pics.

Steak Plate

Neighborhood grocery store, grilled outside, 5 minutes before closing, ran out of sides except for brown rice. The Cat taking the rice in her bento today.

Turkey Burger Sliders

Semi-regular Ruby Tuesday Sundayย stop after farmers market. This week The Mouse ate turkey burger sliders, with fries. ๐Ÿ™‚

Grilled Farm Bread Bruschetta

Seasonal tomatoes, burrata cheese, basil pesto, balsamic glaze, extra virgin olive oil, micro basil.

The Cat’s lunch.

Have a good week!

Enjoy. Eat well.
