Not pretty, but very tasty

Stir-fried and braised with ginger, miso, salt. Topped with roasted sesame seeds and green onions. The Cat said easy to eat.

Oh yeah, what’s been keeping us a little distracted lately?

Sunday just as “weird”, in a good way.

Started like most Sundays for us. Farmers market, groceries, mushroom chicken plate for The Cat.

Problem with buying take out from the grocery store is that so far, the menu is the same. Baked mahi mahi, pastele stew, and mushroom chicken.

The Mouse has tried them all, while The Cat doesn’t mind the mushroom chicken each Sunday, The Mouse needed a little variety.

On the way back, picked up a combo plate from L&R Drive In.

There’s a space in the upper left corner, The Cat took the rice. 🙂

Portion was large enough for me to take a sandwich with the leftover chicken katsu yesterday.

After a long afternoon “event”, tried a Japanese restaurant on the way home.

Fairly reasonable prices. We can come back. 🙂

Except not for natto, The Cat’s nose too sensitive. Humph.

So the weird part of the weekend?

I forgot to take a picture.

Stay tuned tomorrow.

Enjoy. Eat well.

A very weird weekend (in a good way).

Saturday night, The Cat wanted to check out the new International Marketplace in Waikiki. Plus we had a coupon for here.

Coaster

The Cat ordered pasta.

The Cat’s Pasta

Vegetable and orecchiette pasta. The Cat said is was okay.

The Mouse's Shrimp Burger

The Mouse’s Shrimp Burger

Shrimp burger, jalapeno mayo, shaved radish and sesame gochujang. Meh. Fries came out room temperature at best, not knock your sock off. The shaved radish was good.

On impulse, we also ordered The Cat’s favorite salad from here.

Salmon Salad

Salmon Salad

Salmon salad, coconut caramel dressing. Server didn’t ask if we wanted this to start, all plates came together, which made for some logistical acrobatics to juggle the three plates on a two top table. My impression so far (we’ve been here twice), restaurant missing something.

An after dinner walk to see …

Nice update, lots of space still being worked on, come back later when more complete.

After all that walking, The Mouse needed a “pick-me-up”.

An old-time Waikiki “institution”.

In all, we walked more than six miles on Saturday. Whew! Hee hee.

At the Korean Market

Yesterday. Weird day.

Started off okay. Searched the mall for breakfast. Nothing appealing.

Ended up at the “food court” at the Korean “super” market nearby.

Ginseng Chicken "Jook"

Ginseng Chicken “Jook”

Had this once before. Seems like the price went up and the quantity and quality went down a bit. 😦

Healthy though.

For a later snack.

Bought

Shelled and Roasted Chestnuts -Bought

As part of The Cat’s lunch “bento”.

Want

Wasn’t heading home for dinner yesterday, so in the want column, not in the bought column yesterday.

Satuday’s adventure continues on the next post.

Enjoy. Eat well.
