Probably one of the last leisure outing opportunities before The Cat goes into tax mode. First, a visit to a health food store to look for papayas. The papaya selection has not been too good in SPAM Land recently. The fruit tends to start rotting from the stem side before fully ripening. Trying the health food store to see if better.

The Mouse picked up a clearance “wheat less” muffin to try try.

Wheat Less Muffin Half

Uhm, no. Very dry, sandy-like texture. Good thing it was reduced price.

Next was lunch at nearby chop suey restaurant. More pics tomorrow. A preview for now.

Making Dumplings

Gau gee. Mmm. The Mouse loves watching/learning how food is made.

The Mouse prefers boiled but guessing most of the dumplings will be deep-fried.

Stay safe and well.

The Cat, rushing to meet government-imposed deadlines, The Mouse helping out. No time for take-out (maybe a good thing).

The Mouse’s lunch.

On Pita Bread

Fried SPAM, kamaboko fishcake, napa cabbage. Saimin garnishes in handheld form. Hee hee.

The Cat came home late. Hot and soupy food.

Hot and Soupy

Leftover rice, beef stock, wakame seaweed, carrot, napa cabbage. Easy to digest. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse eating weird, again.

Taking advantage of a “two-fer”, a Big Mac and a Quarter Pounder. Of course, The Mouse ordered them his way. No cheese, light on the sauce and onions, no salt, extra pickles. At home, The Mouse added his own “saltiness”.

“SPAMmed”

SPAM slices (thin-sliced, reduced sodium and fat version), straight out of the can. It was late, The Mouse was hungry. Next time, if there is time, The Mouse will fry the slices first. Still good. Suggestion to the local franchisee, SPAM add-on. Might not be a far stretch, SPAM is offered for breakfast, just saying.

The Mouse ate the Big Mac for lunch and the Quarter Pounder for dinner. No stuffed mouse.

Another add-on The Mouse did, cinnamon sprinkled into his coffee, also from MickyD.

Coffee with Cinnamon

Now returning to regular programming. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

Vegetable Pho

The Mouse used to want “everything but the kitchen sink” in his pho bowl. Lately, he wants lighter fare.

The Cat ordered her normal oxtail soup pho.

The Mouse ordered vegetable pho (from the neighborhood Vietnamese/Japanese restaurant).

Vegetable Pho

Mmm! 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse forgot to pack his breakfast the other day (cubicle eating). Nearest thing to the workplace is a health food store. The Mouse’s main hesitation are the prices, way up there.

Original thought was to just pick up some kinda energy bar, stumbled across a clearance container of curry quinoa salad. Original price was over five dollars for about a third of a pound, marked down to $1.99. Winner (energy bar prices were over two dollars and more).

Curry Quinoa

Small bits of vegetables and raisins (maybe currants), mostly for color The Mouse thinks. The Mouse didn’t go hungry. 🙂

Lesson learned, pack lunch, prescriptions and vitamins, and water bottle the night before.

Stay safe and well.
