Goodbye 2015!

It’s been a weird, interesting, learning, sad and sorry (worldwide), etc. year. Just cleaning out the phone.

She swears it’s a gift from a client, maybe this is how she keeps her assistants calm. Hee hee.

Met the new company’s resident cat. Named by the boss’ daughter. Seemed more interested in chillin’.

Meeting up with relatives tonight. What’s your plans to greet the new year?

Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, and (cross your fingers) peaceful new year!

See ya’ next year!

Enjoy. Eat well.

That weird time of leaving one job and starting another, the overlap (just me and my weird situations). New boss wanted me to start immediately, had to give a little bit of notice to the church. Half day at both. No time for lunch. 😦

Slurped while waiting for The Cat to finish work.

Tomato Chicken Udon

Tomato Chicken Udon

Iyo Udon at the mall. The Cat tried this several weeks ago. Thought I’d give it a go. Why Japanese-Italian? Server asked if I wanted cheese on it. Huh?

Not bad, a little on the bland side. Luckily there’s “all you want” condiments on the side.

Mouse Bowl

Mouse Bowl

Tempura bits, green onions, a dollop of grated ginger, and a sprinkle of shichimi spices. Much better. 🙂

Good thing the “weirdness” goes away today!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Chinese-Mexican? (Sorta?)

In the land of SPAM (and SPAM musubi), Japanese-European bakeries, and fusion menus, not much surprises us food-wise. Even Chinese-Mexican.

One of our go-to places AJ’s Chinese Fast Food is now offering “Mexican” choices. At the suggestion of the chef, ordered a fish burrito.

Fish, slaw, beans, no rice, and no cheese (by request). since I don’t really have a reference to compare with, I thought it was pretty good. Enough spice to be noticed, but not smoke in the ears spicy. There’s some other offerings I would be willing to try later (shredded pork torta for example).

Washed the burrito down with a smoothie.

Powdered, not fresh, went well with the burrito.

What’s next? Chinese-Korean-Mexican? Hmmm.

BTW, got a new job, submitting resignation to the church today. Happy New Year! (The smoothie was part of the celebration)

No more work on Sundays! 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

We offered to take the chef and Mrs. out for dinner. Chef decided to cook instead … SCORE!

Gently suggested he keep it simple.

Main Course and Dessert

Main Course and Dessert

Rib-eye steak with spinach risotto and vanilla bean panna cotta with berry compote. Simple but delicious.
