The Cat’s lunch, watermelon and tomato salad. A business acquaintance recommended.

Salad

Chunks of ripe tomato and watermelon with shaved red onion tossed in white balsamic vinaigrette and topped with goat cheese. The Cat thought is was okay. Maybe the acquaintance was nostalgic when she attended school in Louisiana. The Mouse is not too sure he would like either, but keeping an open mind and stomach. Hee hee.

Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya

The Cat thought “fried rice”, not really but understandable. She brought some home for The Mouse to taste. Tasty. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The main food. The Cat ordered salmon.

Pan-Seared Ora King Salmon

Served on a bed of sweet corn, yellow and zucchini squash, cauliflower rice, edamame, fresh basil, blistered tomatoes, salsa verde, and grilled lemon. The Cat said salmon was cooked perfectly.

The Mouse went the menu less traveled, since everything was ala carte, ordered two appetizers.

Nueske;s Bacon Steak

Thick-cut, soy-caramel glazed. Mmm. Texture was chewy, taste reminded The Mouse of fried SPAM, in a good way. Hee hee.

SRF Wagyu Meatballs

Sans Parmesan cheese. Very good, definite order again.

Sides were large portions to share.

Sautéed Brussels Sprouts

With bacon and shallots.

Sautéed Spinach & Button Mushrooms

Server recommended the mushrooms with onions but with The Cat digestion issues with onions …

Actually, the spinach and mushrooms were very good too.

Stay safe and well.

The Cat got a gift card from one of her clients to Morton’s The Steakhouse, she decided to use it this past weekend.

Starters:

Onion Bread
Chopped House Salad

Chopped Iceberg and Romaine, cucumbers, blue cheese crumbles, bacon, chopped egg, avocado, vinaigrette. Portion was big, sharable.

Shrimp Cocktail

The Mouse was not sure of the size of the shrimp but they were huge, mini lobster sized. Hee hee.

Lobster Bisque

The Cat’s soup. Again, large portion (she took half home). She said as good as Chef H’s, just without the flambé.

Table Lamp

Base is a sculpture of a sleeping pig. The Mouse wondered, should the base be a sleeping cow? Maybe chain got a discount from a warehouse? Dunno. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

Sides

Sides or add-ons from the ramen shop at the mall. Prices are reasonable. Good find for The Mouse to supplement meals (all he has to do is add carbs, rice, noodles, even bread, and vegetables. 🙂

Chopped Chasiu
Takana

The takana is The Cat’s new favorite “garnish vegetable”. 🙂

The Mouse knows, buying food from a ramen shop without getting noodles is a bit weird but The Mouse doesn’t like eating soup noodles out of take-out containers. So there. Hee hee.

The Cat and The Mouse headed to dinner at a steak house tonight, but probably not eating steak. Future post.

Stay safe and well.

The Elephant in the Room

Or the pineapple in the refridge. Hee hee. The Mouse finally got to breaking down the pineapple.

The Elephant err Pineapple

The pineapple, after taking off the exterior and “eyes”.

After

The alignment of cutting out the “eyes” were off, The Mouse out of practice. No matter.

Pineapple in Chunks

Success? Somewhat. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.
