Buns and Açaí

Since I was in the neighborhood …

Try try.

Sign

Mostly a bubble tea place, but, they also have açaí and bao buns on the menu.

Since The Mouse was doing take-out, went with the “manapua” buns instead of the regular open bao buns.

Buns

Char siu on the left, mushroom and vegetable on the right (they were out of miso steak 😦 ).

Bite Views

Both were okay, little too much onion for The Mouse’s taste. Plus, no one does “manapua” style buns like Char Hung Sut. Hee hee.

For dessert.

Açaí Bowl

Açaí, granola, papaya, mango, pineapple, coconut, local passion fruit drizzle.

Nice change from the “normal” mixed berry toppings.

In in the neighborhood again, maybe try the open bao buns, definitely another açaí bowl, maybe even a bubble tea. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Cuzs Eat

The Mouse was completely distracted yesterday. Nothing of significance eating-wise. Luckily the cuzs went on a food exploration/adventure and texted me their lunch pictures.

Sushi Maruyama

New-ish, Chef owned. Quite a good bit of buzz.

Hamachi Nigiri

To quote the cuzs: “The best we’ve had.”

Notice how the fish drapes over the rice? Hardly can see the rice. Vicarious yum. Sigh.

Agedashi Tofu

.

Grilled Ume Musubi

Their final assessment? New favorite sushi bar.

Now, The Mouse and The Cat gotta try.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Food in a Box

The Mouse has been wanting to try this place for awhile.

O’Kims Korean Kitchen. Took a picture of the front but wrong setting, no picture.

Heard about the confited pork belly brulee. Drool.

CONFITED PORK BELLY BRULEE

Confit pork belly with sesame leaves and miso sauce, pickled onions, apple & ginger jam, green salad and kimchi.

The pork was shy, hiding under the sesame leaves?

Close up

Not buttah tender, but very tasty. Everything well made. Socks off. Definitely would return.

Location is a bit of an issue. But, find a way. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

Burgers and Comics?

Ever since The Mouse’s cuz texted his wagyu burger, The Mouse has been jonesing for a hamburger. Waiting to go with him.

In the meantime, a little detour on the way home.

Front

The Mouse has been here once before, but did take-out. This time, wanted the full sit-down experience.

Inside

Comic themed. Like walking into someone’s garage.

Side Salad

The Mouse went basic.

“Juicy Burger”

Burger braised in housemade jus, greens, tomato, balsamic aioli.

Stacked View

Nom.

Not as epic as the cuz’s burger, but kept the wolf at bay for a while. 🙂

The Kitchen

Definitely will return. Parking and seating could be an issue, have to see when is less crowded.

Enjoy. Eat well.
