Treat, No Trick

Dinner with Aunt M, and the cuz’s P&B. Le Bistro. We were instructed to “eat whatever we want”. The Mouse started with bone marrow.

Bone Marrow

Bone Marrow

Couldn’t tell you what else was on the plate (except for the toast), couldn’t quite understand the server. Socks off

Caramelized Bone-in Kurobuta Pork Chop

Cioppino onion, red wine, balsamic vinegar (description off the web). Again, socks off. I’m usually not a pork chop fan, more pork belly, but this was goooood! The vinegar tasted almost Asian shoyu-y.  First time trying Kurobuta pork, hope it’s not the last.

The Cat went for fish (naturally).

Pan Roasted Sea Bass

Hamakua & shimeji mushrooms, truffle essence (again, description from the web). The Cat liked.

We also got a treat to take home.

Cupcakes

Cute yeah?!

Mahalo ā nui for the treats (we won’t tp your car, just kidding). Hee hee.

Hope your Halloween night is filled with treats, no tricks, unless you want to be tricked and scared.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Sorry, sorry, sorry (both to the Food Network and Rydell High fans), couldn’t help myself. Actually I could, but what fun is that? Hee hee.

Oh yeah, I also steamed and peeled purple sweet potato for The Cat’s lunch today.

Slightly larger than fingerling sized.

Why do these conjure thoughts of Uncle Fester or “In the Realm of the Senses” in my brain? “The voices in my head are calling me!” It is Halloween season after all! Hee hee (or rather Heh heh, or even Bwahaha!). 🙂

Still have the celery to deal with (already thinly chopped), maybe tonight.

Enjoy. Eat well.
