Or Sunday brunch. A bit of a breather for The Cat before final push of regular tax season. Kinda of a new try, we’ve done take out from Basalt during the lock down, first time eating in.
Smoked Salmon Hash?
The Cat’s dish, a daily special. Crispy hash brown, eggs, lox. The Mouse thinks it was chef’s take on latkes. Pretty good.
Pork Belly Fried Rice
The Mouse’s dish. Bacon fried rice, roast pork belly, two fried eggs, toasted English Muffin, Mmm. The pork belly roast, best The Mouse has eaten in a while. The Mouse’s only complaint, maybe half a scoop more fried rice. Almost perfect. 🙂
Shared dessert.
Grand Marnier Mousse Cake
Dark chocolate mousse, raspberry sauce, mixed berries.
The Cat has approved application to return soon. There is a braised beef short rib dish The Mouse is curious about. 🙂
The Mouse was MIA yesterday, dropped The Cat at work, her car was injured and needed cosmetic surgery.
Leftover meals (repurposed).
Braised Chicken Feet Noodles with Turnip Tops
.
Ma Po Tofu and Biscuit
The Mouse thought about frying an egg, but probably would be too filling and send The Mouse into a food coma. Dunno why but the plating reminds me of Kung Fu Panda Shifu. Hee hee.
The Cat still exploring ma po tofu. The Cat found what we thought was a new place near Chinatown, turns out same owners, new chef, new name. Menu changed from Cantonese to Sichuan.
Ma Po Tofu
Dish had a noticeable amount of Sichuan pepper, definite numbing effect. The Cat sorta approved. The Mouse conditionally approved.
Wok Fried Green Beans
The beans were good, The Mouse thinks the kitchen dragon had the day off, not quite “burnt” enough.
Dan Dan Noodles
The noodles were tasty, and spicy. The Mouse experienced a little side effect afterwards, will not go into details, tmi. 😉
The Cat saw more dishes she wants to try next time, The Mouse will be bringing some kind of stomach remedy counter measures next time. Hee hee.
