A Little Treat

A small bag, bought from the warehouse (employee discount), treat for The Cat.

Bag

Luckily there was an open box, usually sold by the case.

The Cat liked. Texture like banana chips, taste concentrated dragonfruit, tart sweet.

Actual chip pic turned out a lot weird. But here it is anyway.

Chips in Package

Very Halloween-y. Hee hee.

Happy Halloween, if you are into that kinda thing.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Grits Soup

Coming from the weird mind of The Mouse.

Kinda throw everything in and hope for the best.

Instant grits (“no self respecting Southerner would ever use instant grits”), pork belly with broth, Napa cabbage, dried and canned bamboo shoot, frozen spinach, one beaten egg, Kaua‘i sea salt. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Grits Soup

Kinda chowder-y without the milk. The Cat said it was hearty. Good for the coming cooler weather.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Breakfast, Pan’s Kitchen, The Mouse’s choice, didn’t think The Cat would appreciate eating out of take-out boxes, she said she didn’t mind.

The Mouse tried this place once before when they first started, was okay, maybe they were still finding their feet.

Breakfast Special

Rice, two eggs, choice of meat, this time The Cat ordered corned beef hash, under $6.00, available all day, good deal.

The Cat said the corned beef hash was well made/cooked.

Loco Moco

Rice, two burger patties, two eggs, mac salad, and gravy with onions and mushrooms. Nom! The Mouse is slowly getting his taste back for onions. Just have to be cooked for now.

Since first time trying for breakfast, added a side of French toast.

French Toast

Usually, a side order is four pieces (two slices), but this place gives six pieces (three slices) good deal.

Enough food for The Cat to make one extra bento. The Mouse had the leftover French toast for next day breakfast.

The Cat approved a return visit. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse finally after decades of existence, tried a McRib sandwich.

McRib Sandwich

Dunno why it took so long to try, maybe because of the limited nature, The Mouse always missed. But glad he tried. As MickyD food goes, the is pretty appealing to The Mouse. First, it’s pork, texture was like steamed pork, something The Mouse is used to. Taste kinda reminded The Mouse of Chinese BBQ/Beijing duck, a good thing. Definitely on The Mouse’s radar. Two socks off.

Dinner was a lucky pick from the Chinese bakery in town. The Mouse’s favorite chicken salad sandwich.

Chicken Salad Sandwich

With Craisins and walnuts, normally, The Mouse shies away from nuts of any kind, but chef does something right in this recipe, also The Mouse likes that there is not too much mayonnaise in the mix, just enough to keep thing together. Not sure but The Mouse thinks there might be MSG or Maggi sauce in the recipe, so tasty.

And since The Mouse was there, picked up a little sweet ending.

Portuguese Egg Tart

Half for The Cat. Not bad. Would pick again.

Enjoy. Eat well.
