Where’s The Bangles when you need them.

Both The Cat and The Mouse worked on Saturday. 😦

The Mouse was planning to pick up tacos from Chef D, didn’t make it. Settled for take-out from the nearby health food store. I know, sigh.

Pork Sandwich

Quinoa Salad
Garbanzo Bean Salad
Oatmeal Cookie

Everything was not bad, the sandwich was pork loin, not pork belly, the salads were okay. My only complaint, the cookie was dry, like what I would imagine styrofoam. Sigh.

Dinner was suuuuuper late. The Cat got delayed at work, by the time she came out, most eating choices were closed. Ended up at Zippy’s with the late night crowd, at the counter.

Portuguese Bean Soup

Zippy’s is one of the few, if not only, place where for an added dollar something, rice and salad is added to soup to make a meal. Good deal. Just enough for a late night meal.

It’s still only February, there’s March and April to go. Woohoo.

Our contribution to the table. Pork was hand chopped by Chef D (AJ’s Chinese Fast Food and Taco Lita). He added extra gravy which caused a bit of excitement on the drive up, but it’s all good.

Again forgot to take a picture until it was almost too late. It was a long day.

So, while waiting for The Cat to pick up The Mouse and the meatballs at the Chef D’s, had a little pick-me-up.

Steel Cut

Usually have instant oatmeal, rolled, trying a box of “instant” steel cut oatmeal (bought on sale).

Out of the micro after 2 1/2 minutes

A lot more chewing than the rolled oats instant oatmeal. Not as “smooth” as the rolled oats. Can’t be eaten (read shoveled) at the desk quickly. Slight learning curve.

Not bad, there’s still 9 more packages left.

Seems like whatever “gremlins” were around this morning have left.
