The Mouse was still jonesing for a good pork meal after the tiny crispy pork “experience” (misadventure? mistranslation?). Had to quick stop at the warehouse yesterday, and since The Mouse was in the area …

Picked-up lunch from Meg’s Drive In, one of the few places that still serves Green River regularly. 🙂

Roast Pork Plate Lunch

With mac salad and gravy! Mmm, tender pork, bits of fat, and an added bonus, stufffing! Nom!

Green River

Perfect meal, The Mouse was full and satiated.

🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse took a can of spinach to work yesterday as part of his lunch … forgot the can opener. Found one in his drawer.

Can Opener

Not using that type of can opener before, The Mouse saw scenes of “Black Rain” and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” play in his head and passed on the can for lunch. Had the can for dinner where there was little risk of disaster.

At Last 🙂

Along with the dinner, The Mouse picked up a crispy pork sandwich from the neighborhood Italian eatery.

Crispy Pork Sandwich

Crispy pork, toasted brioche bun, arugula, tomato, caramelized Marsala onion. red pepper aioli. The Mouse got lost in translation. He had visions of porchetta with chicharrones – melt in you mouth pork belly with crispy bits. turned out the crispy pork was a deep-fried pork chop (very lean). The Mouse think it was good, especially the arugula, onions, aioli, and the bun, but it could have been sooooooo much better.

The Cat had a bowl of seafood bisque, sample from the warehouse.

Package

Portioned for one serving. Could be heated in bag.

Bisque

The Cat slurped.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse read on the internet, so must be true, yesterday was national hamburger day. Really?

Last night’s dinner.

Whopper

The Mouse was going to look for something “epic”, but in the end got the closest burger near home. No bacon, no gourmet sauce, just a regular. Still good. Plus the chain running a twofer. The Mouse has one more for lunch today. Win. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

Contents

One sliver of lotus root in the whole can. Cute yeah? Kinda like pork and beans. Hee hee.

The Mouse made a quick jook (used leftover rice instead of raw).

Quick Jook

Pickles went well with the jook. Mmm.

Stay safe and well.
