A Little Late

For St. Paddy’s Day, at least it’s still March.

Green Tea Oreo

Green Tea Oreo

Omiyage from a co-worker. Can’t wait to try. 🙂

Brush

Brush

To clean the coffee pot, mugs, and cups. Reminds me either of a Muppet or a Dr. Seuss character.

Lunch

Lunch

Three salad sampler. Peas and bacon, curried chicken Waldorf salad (with apples, grapes, and almonds), and pasta salad.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Mistrial

Through no fault of the jury, judge declared a mistrial. After nine days in the jury box and eleven days total? Are you kidding me? One of the jurist said it’s like watching a movie and the last reel is missing.

At least life can get back to some normalcy.

The food today.

Chopped Steak, SPAM Musubi, Glazed Croissant

Chopped Steak, SPAM Musubi, Glazed Croissant

Lunch, breakfast, and office goodie. Chopped steak, I think a local concoction. Thinly sliced beef, green bell peppers, onions, celery, and carrots (all the veggies The Cat is not thrilled about, except the celery), stir-fried together with a shoyu/sugar sauce … mmm.

Getting late, sleepy time. Zzzzzz

Enjoy. Eat well.

Collage!

Found a new (to me anyway) photo editor: picmonkey. It has a collage function! Awesome.

But first, “brunch”.

Vegetarian Burrito

From here. Hapa rice (that’s brown and white rice mixed, get it? 🙂 ), pesto, carrots, slaw, tomatoes & green onions. Not bad. Definitely would order again. Perfect as a light meal.

Picked up half a roast duck on the way home. Next couple of days will be kinda long, roast duck, easy supplement to meals (lunch and dinner). From The Cat’s current favorite place.

Just off the front counter, above a sink, large fan on the left. Anticipation!

The Mouse is going to have fun playing with the photo editor. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

Saturday Sandwich

This Saturday, kinda rainy, lazy, putter around the kitchen kinda day. A sandwich I’ve been thinking about.

The headliner:

The Can

The Can

Finally found a tin. It’s not Underwood brand, but similar.

The supporting characters:

Bread

The Bread

The "Cheese" (for the lactose intolerant)

The “Cheese” (for the lactose intolerant)

The "Acid" Balance

The “Acid” Balance

To cut the heaviness of the liver and “cheese”. Same kind of ginger served at sushi restaurants to clear the palate.

And of course, this kind of sandwich needs …

Tomato Soup

For more acidity.

Yum.

Enjoy. Eat well.

T.G.I.P.

Thank goodness it’s Porkday! Hee hee. If I had my way, everyday would be Porkday (or Baconday, or SPAMday, you get the idea).

Still on jury duty. Not much choice lunch-wise, I take that back, a few choices, most over-priced (IMHO). But, came across a “pop-up” the other day.

The Cat doesn’t know the character, she thinks it’s Japanese, makes sense, it’s a ramen “shop”. According to the server’s t-shirts …

But I didn’t eat ramen because these were on the menu.

Chasiu Rice Bowl

Chasiu Rice Bowl

According to their Facebook page, the make their own chasiu (the braised pork belly type, not the Chinese sweet roast pork type).

All my dishes the pork was generously cut and a nice ratio of fat to meat, melt in your mouth like “buttah”.

Almost made having to serve on jury duty worthwhile, almost. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.
