The Plate

The Plate

Ham, butter roll, fruit, fried something (either chicken or fish, couldn’t tell), cookie, chocolate muffin. Soda, beer, and wine. Apparently, the religious staff does this twice a year for the staff. 🙂

Think MacGyver and bibimbap. I know, weird, in a good way, at least in my mind.

It started with …

Lomi Salmon

And just rummaging through the kitchen.

Mixed Peas

Mixed Peas

Frozen peas, roasted peanuts (from AJ’s Chinese Fast Food), hot dog, and grape tomato.

Just before eating, added the lomi salmon.

The Layers

Didn’t take a picture of after the mix but you get the idea. Yum!

For dinner, in the mood for an açaí bowl (to offset the onions and salted salmon) but too lazy to drive to the mall. Stopped in at the neighborhood Baskin-Robbins with the hope of something dairy-free.

Luckily, one dairy-free flavor.

The Ice

The Ice

Bought a cup for home. Mmm! Not açaí but a very good substitute. Inhaled it with a banana. Sweet and patriotic, good combination.

It’s Friday!

The brothers (not frat bros, religious brothers) at the university (my new job location) is hosting an employee party today. Old timers say the food and drink spread in the past were great. Tell you about it later, not planning on eating lunch today. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

They’ve been in business for a long time (forgot to read their banner). First time for The Mouse. Former co-worker recommended the Student Special #1 but I wanted to try their okazu-ya.

Unfortunately, the okazu-ya section was on vacation until next week. But since I was there, ordered breakfast to go.

Still served in cardboard "pie" box

With the rubber stamped brand on the top. Guess if it ain’t broke …

My breakfast.

Ahi Breakfast

Ahi Breakfast

Rice, eggs (over easy), and fried ahi. Eggs perfectly cooked, still runny enough to “gravy” the rice. “Breakfast” sized portion of ahi. Order includes small drink. All for less than six bucks, cheap eats. Totally forgot that they offer green river. Sigh, next time.

Maybe next time, Student Special #1. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

On the way home, stopped in at AJ’s Chinese Fast Food to pick-up a portion of their steamed fish filet.

Then, the owner piled on eggplant and tofu, kau yuk, and lion head (the fish is on the bottom). Only charged me for the fish. It’s good to make friends with food people (I’ll go get him some pastries later).

Ate the kau yuk and lion head last night, taking the fish and eggplant for lunch today.

Dessert

Dessert

Orange and Asian pear.

Enjoy. Eat well.
