This past weekend, we were running an errand for The Chef. To make a long story short, we ended up at the Waikiki P.F. Chang’s. The lunch specials weren’t appealing to me and the ala carte menu was a little pricey. Then I saw the sides and we decided to make a meal out of sides.
We started with Chang’s chicken lettuce wraps (one of The Cat’s favorites). The only item that wasn’t a side.
Wok-fired with Sichuan preserves, onion, chili paste and garlic.
I think what made it “Asian” was the curry seasoning.
I liked that there were fresh shiitake mushrooms.
Sliced, cold cucumbers sprinkled with soy sauce and sesame seeds.
Lunch ended with cake.
Six rich layers of frosted chocolate cake topped with semi-sweet chocolate chips, served with fresh berries and raspberry sauce (ala mode).
All in all not bad if consider the restaurant not-Chinese but Chinese inspired.
Looks like The Chef found a location he likes. Will keep you updated.
Enjoy. Eat well.
