For reasons The Mouse will not go into here, original plan of Sunday breakfast at one of the nearby golf courses went awry, and we probably will not be frequenting the place anytime soon.

A quick detour to the cafe up the street. The Cat was craving cured salmon.

Norwegian Smoked Salmon Breakfast

With avocado and scrambled eggs, sriracha sauce. The Cat likes.

The Mouse went with a sandwich.

Roasted Eggplant Sandwich

No fries, coleslaw. Sandwich was good and tasty, but The Mouse was still a little hungry after. Hmm.

Maybe it the minestrone soup that wasn’t ready yet. Oh well.

Thanks Zia Caffee for saving the day.

Enjoy. Eat well.

First The Cat’s

Soup

Chowder.

Salad

Caesar Salad with chicken.

Now, The Mouse’s.

Tuna and Natto

Rhetorically, which would you choose? Hee hee.

Although, The Mouse did like his lunch but realizes it’s not for everybody.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Simple Soup

Picked up at the grocery store.

Pork Riblets

Trimmings to make the pork ribs even. Butcher at the warehouse said these are “scrap”.

The Mouse parboiled, washed, then simmered for about 45 minutes with the remaining dried bamboo.

Simple Soup

Added whiskey to finish. Soup will not gel, not much collagen, but The Cat said tasty.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Paraphrasing JB, Hee hee.

The Mouse was in the mood for a fish sandwich, not the fried stuff from the fast-food places. First choice, since he was in the area was place near the naval memorials, recommended by a former co-worker, wait too long.

Second choice, golf course “nineteenth hole”, founded by Don Ho’s mom. You know, “Tiny Bubbles” fame? Nice view.

View from the Parking Lot

The Mouse was thinking about soup and sandwich, soup was corn chowder, too much dairy, sorry TMI.

Instead, The Mouse ordered a side salad and the fish sandwich.

Salad

Seasonal mixed greens, croutons, balsamic dressing. Nice.

Grilled Mahi Sandwich

Twin Filets Grilled and Served with Lettuce, Tomato and Tartar Sauce. Served on a Homemade Bun.

Classic, nothing gourmet, fish grilled well. Satisfied the craving. Server nice enough to give more of the balsamic dressing for fries dipping. Not malt vinegar but close.

No dessert, the ran out of sweet potato pie. Sigh.

Enjoy. Eat well.

This week, there were days The Mouse traveled light to work. No bento box or breakfast bowl to haul.

Plate lunches.

Chicken and Eggplant

Nearby Thai take-out. Not bad, kinda pricey, but on this day, The Mouse missed the lunch wagon. Sigh.

Kalua Pork with Cabbage Plate Lunch

From the lunch wagon, almost missed him again, reasonable price and bigger quantity. Have to set a timer on the phone.

Enjoy. Eat well.
