Lunch(es)

Just cleaning out the phone.

The Cat's Lunch

The Cat’s Lunch

From a professional association lunch meeting.

Bread Pudding

From the same meeting. The cup in the background is the aftermath of carrot soup (The Cat forgot to take a picture).

Seafood Pasta

Seafood Pasta

From Romano’s Macaroni Grill. It was The Cat’s minion’s B-Day. The minion’s seafood pasta dish.

Eggplant Parmesan

At least long noodles were involved. Still waiting for an Olive Garden to appear in our little spot on the map (jus’ sayin’). 🙂

Hamburger Steak Plate

Hamburger Steak Plate

My lunch from a couple of weeks ago. From across the street of the church. I was fulllll! Definitely order again. Maybe just a little more gravy next time. Local mouse style.

Carnita Rice Bowl

Carnita Rice Bowl

From a taco joint down the street from the church. Mexican rice, black beans, carnitas, and all the taco toppings. Wasn’t bad, the pork was well cooked, just not seasoned enough (the salsa helped). The rice sat in the warmer a little too long. Maybe get another hamburger steak from across the street next time. But try try.

Heading for a new Korean restaurant tonight. Sounds intriguing.

Happy Friday!

Enjoy. Eat well.

What a Day

Yesterday.

Started out ok. Picked up this on the way to church.

Morning Glory

Morning Glory

From The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf shop up the street from the church. A “moist honey carrot cake“. So it’s healthy (plus it has raisins). That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 🙂

Things kinda went downhill from there. Discovered a big mistake in payroll (that’s the bad news). At least we “found” extra money for one of the preschool teachers (that’s the good news). She’s nine months hapai (pregnant)), and she’s verrrrry appreciative of the “find” (that’s the better news).

It took so long to unravel and remedy the “situation”, set my regular work back. Sigh.

Needed a “pick me up” in the afternoon.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookie and Chocolate Chip Mac Cookie

From the grill across the street. Nom nom nom. 🙂

Still behind in work, but the cookies helped (not the waistline though). Sigh again. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Turnip “Hash”

According to Wiki, hash (food) is “a dish consisting of diced or chopped meat, potatoes, and spices that are mixed together and then cooked either alone or with other ingredients such as onions.” Well, no potatoes, no spices (except salt and sugar), and no onions, but I’m calling it “hash” (for lack of a better name) anyways.

BTW, The Cat brought home a bag of dry-boiled peanuts.

A little on the crunchy (undercooked) side. The Mouse had a lot of … (sorry TMI). 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

Planned Doggie Bag

Bear with me, this gets a little confusing, for me at least

The Cat had leftovers from Saturday lunch (a little bit of chow funn, fried rice, bitter melon, and eggplant). The Cat thought it wouldn’t be enough for my lunch today (she has a luncheon seminar today).

Still have Ruby Tuesday gift cards (Bulk buy from Costco). And they have menu items that includes unlimited salad bar. I know, doggie bags (or mousie bags as it were) happen, but last night, it was a planned doggie bag.

Ordered their Veggie Trio Combo.

Choose three of our delicious sides to create your own fresh meal. The Mouse chose rice pilaf, roasted spaghetti squash, and grilled zucchini. Most of which went to the doggie/mousie container.

Instead The Mouse filled up on “salads”.

I know, some of the salad items are not “healthy”, most were.

BTW, The Cat ordered New Orleans Seafood.

Mild and flaky tilapia that is creole-seasoned then topped with sautéed shrimp and Parmesan cream.

In the end, The Mouse got lunch today.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

And … The Cat got leftovers for dinner (we overestimated). 🙂

Not pretty but functional. The Mouse doesn’t have to cook too much tonight. Heh heh.

Enjoy. Eat well.
