Last night was the private party at the restaurant. I was basically assisting the pantry chef, K, with whatever she needed (I thought I would be washing dishes all night). First, I peeled and tied asparagus.

Not sure why the bundling. I didn’t get to see the process. The asparagus were used as a platform for grilled mahi mahi.

These babies were pan-fried and added to a pile of shredded hearts of palm salad (I helped to shred).

Seems like I was on shred duty last night, I also helped to shred green papaya for the green papaya poké salad.

Lastly (or more correctly, firstly), I helped with one of the night’s canapes. A miniature version of the eggplant, basil, Stracciatella cheese roll we ate on Saturday night.

Cute ya?

At the end of the night, I was tired, but satisfied. Learned new stuff, felt good that people were able to enjoy something I contributed in making.

Chef said not to come in today, but K (the pantry chef) asked me to come in to help her restock and replenish her pantry (the party kind of wiped out all of her prep ingredients.

The adventure continues.

Enjoy. Eat well.
