The analog/physical roam, not the digital/mobile phone roam. I was going to do a Wordless Wednesday but I got to wordy. 🙂
Errand downtown. Haven’t had that much lunch luck in town, ambled the few blocks to Chinatown. Had in mind a roasted meat shop (shops that sell Chinese roast pork, char siu (with an “r”), roast duck, soy sauce chicken, etc.) that sells take out lunch plates. Rice plus your choice of meat, cheap. I think it was featured on one of the Travel Channel programs once. Prices are through the roof (in my opinion). Ugh! No. Maybe because of the “fame”?
One of the go-to places, Hunan Cuisine, their simmered pork belly always a favorite. And for now, still cheap. But then, this post would really be wordless.
Tried the twice cooked pork belly lunch plate.
Pork belly, simmered, sliced thin, stir-fried crispy with onions, bell peppers, chili flakes. Ohhhh, yummmm! Different from just simmered pork belly but equally tasty (my first experience with twice cooked pork, will not be my last). Socks came off (both).
After that, needed something a little sweet, just because.
Via Portugal, Macao, Hong Kong (and maybe even Guangzhou), to Honolulu. From my favorite, Annie’s Bakery. Also picked up a few pastries for The Cat’s breakfasts.
So, all in all, a good food day. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.

Wordless Wednesdays don’t ever really work out for me either. What city do you live in!
