Breadstuff

Jus’ pics of some of the bread/pastries we’ve recently acquired.

Honey Layer Cake

Take-out from the Uzbek eatery yesterday. Not bad, not too sweet, a little dry, good with hot tea.

Uzbek Naan

Also take-out from the Uzbek eatery. Thought The Cat might want to try.

Mini Rum Cake

Service fund raiser on campus. I think I wrote about this before. Pretty awesome, very “rummy”. A little pricey, but consider it a donation.

Puff Pastry

Chef “little” p is in town. The Cat likes.

Tomorrow is Monday. Ugh.

Enjoy. Eat well.

King Cake

Apparently, someone sends one to the office every year the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.

King Cake

King Cake

First time trying for The Mouse.

Mouse Piece

Mouse Piece

Kinda like a coffee cake. Cake was good, topping was a little too sweet. A cup of coffee or black tea would have been great.

Not sure what the significance of King Cake is and how it relates to the Easter. More research needed.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Must’ve been good …

The Mouse also picked up something for himself.

Maple Bacon Donut

Maple Bacon Donut

Mmm! Really good. Socks off. Not greasy tasting, super crunchy bacon. Definite winner.

For balance,

Dried Plums

I keep a bag in the office refrig.

So, my theory, donut holes have no calories because they are just holes. What you think? Valid theory?

The director looked at me kinda funny when I proposed that theory to her. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Happy Mouse. Although, I still prefer the poi donut from Kamehameha Bakery (bigger and cheaper), the old location, have not tried their new location yet.

Happy Friday!

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse gets “Moo’ed”

The Mouse has been having some hard/software issues. Himself, not the computer’s. Made an appointment yesterday with a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner to see if he could help. He used to be one of China’s top acrobats and studied TCM because of his own injuries. I can imagine being an acrobat takes a toll on the body.

Session started with massage. Face down on that funny donut pillow. Guessing what Kobe cows go through. Although The Mouse felt he was being sat on by an elephant.

Next was acupuncture and cupping on the back. Again, The Mouse was imagining a bull ring in Mexico or Spain and a milking barn. Sorry, imagination was running wild.

The final process was The Mouse being pulled and twisted like wet laundry being wrung out. It was an experience let me tell ya’.

The only thing missing from the session was beer (Kobe beef, get it?). 🙂

Might take a few session to completely reboot the hard/software. Looking forward to next week’s session. 😉

To change the subject, The Cat brought home Shanghai style mooncake from her favorite small-kid time bakery.

Bite View

Seaweed, sugar, pinenuts, a little bit of salt. Think furikake with pinenuts. Interesting taste.

Enjoy. Eat well.
