But first, someone from the office, whom I vaguely recall meeting (she works on another floor) is retiring at the end of the week. Office chipped in for a retirement cake.
Cute ya?
The Cat is still hosting her friend. Eating on my own more than usual. Weather getting a little chilly (relatively). Thought I’d try here.
Supposed to be “greener”. Tried to decide between stuffed Portobello mushroom, chili, or vegetarian chili. The mushroom was stuffed with ground turkey, I tried to avoid ground turkey (a textural thing), the consistency of the vegetarian chili looked a little thin (again, a textural thing). Settled for the regular beef chili (with Big Island (Hawai’i) grass-fed beef. Chili and rice on cold days, yes please.
Brown rice and vegetable slaw included. I thought the meat was a little too broken up (there’s that texture again), too “smooth”. Taste was not bad, added a couple of drops of Tabasco. The slaw was a cross between kimchi, shoyu and apple cider (I think). Really good. Best part of the plate. Could’ve used a finer chop tho. Funny, meat too smooth, vegetables too big, wanted the opposite. Oh well.
Had a “tourist” adventure today. Tell you about it tomorrow. Don’t burn your turkeys (if you are so inclined to serve turkey tomorrow. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
