Are you one of those people that think about lunch around 9:00 am? I am. Today, it was a chili loco moco or a bowl of chili and rice at one of the downtown “diners”. Plans changed.
Ended up at the Filipino restaurant near Costco with The Cat, and The Cat’s friend who’s visiting from Hong Kong. Okay, can adapt, I can order breakfast (served all day), Longanisa (sausage) with rice and eggs.
I thought we were going to order individual plates but ended up ordering family style. The Cat ordered sizzling tofu.
The friend ordered Pinakbet.
Apparently more vegetables, less meat, thoughts of pork shank, or sizzling pig cheeks, or Lechon Kawali out the door. Sigh. Ordered ung choi and tomato.
Starch was one scoop each of white, brown, and garlic rice (we couldn’t decide).
Don’t get me wrong, everything was tasty, just not chili or pork (there was a little bit of pork in the Pinakbet).
Oh well, tomorrow is another day, they’re going on a sunset dinner cruise tomorrow, less chance of me (and my lunch) getting sidetracked. Wish me luck. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
