Update of food from the Japanese warehouse store.

Japanese Style White Bread

Denser texture than what I get at the “regular” grocery store, although The Mouse hasn’t bought commercial white bread in years. Bread was great with peanut butter and strawberry jam and tuna salad (not all at once). Not bad, the whole wheat bread from JJ2 Bakery is still favorite.

Brussels Style “Belgian” Waffle with Agave Syrup

What is Brussels style? I dunno.

Overall, not bad, thicker than a normal frozen waffle, but in the end, it’s still a frozen waffle. Good for eating at the desk. Yes, still eating at the desk for a couple more weeks. The Mouse can visualize a tiny dim light bulb turning on at the end of a dark tunnel. At least there’s a light bulb (and it’s not burnt out). Hee hee.

This was supposed to be The Cat’s bento yesterday.


Rice (underneath it all), corn, watercress, and chicken feet.

Problem was rushing out the door, The Cat forgot her bento. 😦

She had to go to the mall and hunt for food.

Cinnamon Sweet Bread

Brought in by the same co-worker. Not super sweet (cinnamon, not cinnamon sugar).

Chinese Cold Chicken

From a “hole in the wall” Chinese take-out nearby. Not bad, some dry spots, mostly moist.

Thinly sliced tomato and matchstick cucumber on whole wheat toast.

Heading to another dinner at Michel’s tonight. Another chef’s choice menu. Funny, we’ve not ordered from the menu yet. Hee hee.

Doctor “suggested” The Mouse cut down on carbs. Rice is now occasionally (once or twice a week), bread went from four to six slices a day (depending if The Mouse ate rice or not) to two. Instead of two slice servings, now one slice.


Slice of whole wheat toast (from JJ2 Bakery), margarine (with flax seed), and Vegemite. Tea or coffee (mostly green tea).


Another whole wheat toast, this time with jam and peanut butter, orange, banana, toaster roasted carrot.

Not missing the carbs too much. 🙂

Too Tart

Picked from the farmers market yesterday.

Pomegranate Jelly

And of course, had to try it.

Peanut Butter, Pomegranate Jelly, and Shiso Leaf on Multi-Grain Toast

Ohh! A little too tart for The Mouse’s taste. Guess I’m just a plain ol’ supermarket strawberry jam kinda mouse.

Maybe I’ll add the jelly to the next pork slow cook pot or make a salad dressing.

Oh well, try try.
