Egg McMuffin from Micky D

Shiso from our bucket. The Mouse thinks all (okay, most) sandwiches should come with a shiso option. Hee hee.

Ready to Nom

Ran an errand to Michael Mina’s “food court” concept at International Marketplace at Waikiki (same complex as Yauatcha), The Street. Chef Mina carries Chef’s chocolates (at “The Chocolate Bar”, cute ya?) and The Mouse wanted to check it out.

Location

Impressive. What an opportunity for the Chef.

Display

Like jewelry. Hee hee.

Box

Dark chocolate “lava rocks” (mac nut “bon bons”). Simply boxed and ribboned. The Cat and The Mouse likes the presentation even though they are still trying to work out some of the kinks.

Gift Bag

Again, very subtle.

Fun fact, The Mouse was their first customer … ever! 🙂

On the way back, drive-thru, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, ran out of chicken sandwich (What!??) Ordered a fish sandwich.

Fish Sandwich

Not bad, pretty good actually, especially if compared with Micky D “Filet-o-Fish”. At least Popeye’s has a bit of green. Sure wish I had the foresight to bring more shiso.

Of course, can’t go to Popeye’s without a side order of red beans and rice.

Red Beans and Rice

Now, The Mouse has never experienced “authentic” red beans and rice, but for what it is (fast food), The Mouse likes Popeye’s.

Funny, The Cat also went (separately) to The Street to check it out, missed each other by an hour.

Flatbread

Salad

With decent parking at somewhat reasonable prices (with minimum purchase), seems like The Cat and The Mouse will be doing more exploring of the new International Marketplace, even though it’s in Waikiki.

Last snippet.

Breakfast yesterday.

Zippy’s Breakfast Bento #1

Corned beef hash, SPAM, scrambled eggs, rice. Should’ve ordered brown rice, too early, couldn’t think, before coffee. Corned beef nicely “charred” with kogi bits. Ate the rice and corned beef hash, saved the SPAM and eggs for lunch.

SPAM and Egg Sandwich

Two slices of whole wheat bread at the office, slightly toasted, SPAM, eggs, packet mayo. Not bad for unscheduled, impromptu sandwich. Missing that shiso again.

As mentioned in the previous almost not posted post (clearly operator error), gonna be a late one tonight.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Sunday Breakfast

An interim post. Planned to post about Sunday lunch, Aunty M’s B-day, couldn’t downsize the pictures in time. So, for now.

The Cat’s Pancakes and Eggs

The Early Bird. Ironic don’t you think? Or maybe appropriate, depending on your point of view.

The “Paniola”

Bowl of chili, rice, and scrambled eggs, no substitutions. Not to worry, The Mouse did not consume all the rice, half went to The Cat to soak up her yolks.

Will work on Sunday lunch pictures and post soon.

Happy B-day Aunty M!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Today, family gathered to “say hello” to the ancestor.

Ancestor

Got to the Manoa a little earlier. Breakfast from Fendu Boulangerie.

Bran Muffin and “Breakfast Biscuit”

Mango Scone

Didnʻt get to stay for lunch with the family after the ritual, The Cat had a last minute appointment with a client.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Not a very interesting week food-wise, my apologies.

Breakfast.

Microwaved Veggies with Peanut Butter

Still trying to use up that organic jar of peanut butter that is too runny for toast or sandwich. Mixed with mixed veggies, not too bad.

I figure, start out with a mess of vegetables in the morning, less guilt throughout the day. Hee hee.

The office is connected with the campus director of finance and facilities (what a combo). She brings back leftovers whenever she has business meetings.

Breakfast Leftovers

Breakfast burrito, orange, hash brown. The Mouse’s lunch.

Dinner was what was planned for lunch, before the breakfast leftover.

Turkey and Ham on JJ2 Whole Wheat with Shiso Leaf

See, unexciting.

Planning on doing a little bit of exploring for lunch tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Lately, whenever we eat at Ruby Tuesday, The Mouse’s order is the same, three sides (spaghetti squash, broccoli, and zucchini) with salad bar.

Plate #1

Mushrooms, broccoli, French dressing, bacon. 🙂

Plate #3

Plate #3

Similar to plate #1. Plate #2 was different, potato salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, fruit, but The Mouse forgot to take a picture. Was really into the mushrooms and broccoli Sunday.

There’s a very pake reason for being a creature of habit, The Mouse can eat his fill on the salad bar and take the vegetables home for lunch the next day. Two meals! Plus, the order is one of the cheaper dishes on the menu that includes the salad bar. Ka-chang! Hee hee!

The Cat was more up to trying something new.

ATM Benedict with Fruit Bowl

ATM Benedict with Fruit Bowl

Can’t find description on-line (“what does ATM mean???), but, it was vegetarian with avocado, tomato, and mushrooms (if I had to guess).

We arrived just between breakfast and lunch. The Cat ordered breakfast, The Mouse ordered “lunch”. Perfect.

The Mouse's Lunch

The Mouse’s Lunch

Zucchini and spaghetti squash. 🙂

Hope you had a happy Valentine’s day (if you are so inclined).

Enjoy. Eat well.
