Picks for The Cat’s bento this week.

From the Korean grocery store.

Steamed Red Bean Buns

Not as sweet and the Japanese or Chinese red bean preparation, The Mouse’s opinion, taste was almost savory.

Fried Sweet Potato

The already prepped food helps The Mouse out in assembling The Cat’s bento. 🙂

The Cat’s Sunday Post-Hibernation Eats

Scrambled eggs, preserved mustard cabbage, pork fu on a jook bed.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Jus’ Pics

The Mouse’s Saturday eating “diary”.

Breakfast

Locally made oat cake, Asian pear, Mandarin orange. The oat cake had more calories than The Mouse’s normal breakfast, but it was Saturday. 🙂

Mandoo

Lunch. From the Korean grocery store. The Mouse went to buy pork jowl/cheeks.

More Lunch

Spicy mini potatoes. The Mouse loves.

Impromptu “Pre-Dinner” Nom

The Mouse delivered tax return to the restaurant GM. Chef H made a plate while The Mouse was waiting for the GM to finish his pre-opening briefing to staff. Mashed potato, pot roast, mango chutney. The Mouse thinks leftover from the staff meal, room temperature. No matter, still nommed. 🙂

Food from Micky D

The Mouse was thinking about a taco plate from the newly found taqueria on the way home but they were closed by the time The Mouse got there. Settled for two breakfast burrito, no cheese, a biscuit, and cookies from Micky D’s. Not bad, but not tacos. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Fifty percent off breakfast, this weekend only. The Mouse tried after blood test. Place used to be owned by one of The Cat’s clients but sold. New owners, hence the soft opening.

Kalua Pork Loco Moco on Fried Rice

No extra charge for the fried rice (sometimes, at other places, fried rice is an upcharge), so The Mouse went with it. Two eggs, nom! In hindsight, with the kalua pork and gravy, the fried rice was a flavor bomb. Too much for The Mouse to handle. But tasty. The rice kinda looked like broken rice. Wonder if it was due to the tossing in the wok (The Mouse is assuming a wok was used) or maybe the flattop?

And since it was fifty percent, and a blood test was involved …

Ube Pancakes – Small Stack

Pancakes with Okinawan sweet potato cream. Jus’ to try.

Overall, good job, except for the fifty percent off, a little pricey for The Mouse, if prices were just a little bit lower, say a dollar or two, The Mouse would be more comfortable. Maybe that’s just the “pake” in The Mouse. Jus’ my opinion.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse has been obsessed with this dish for a couple weeks. But the other menu items don’t seem The Cat friendly.

The stars kinda aligned this weekend. The Mouse made a slight detour for breakfast/lunch.

Front

Decor was nice.

British Telephone Box

Okay, it’s not a blue police call box, but close enough. Hee hee.

No menu needed.

Eggs and Bone Marrow

Came with charred bread. Awesome, a little pricey, but an occasional indulgence. The Mouse has declared this week to be an indulgent week. Hee hee.

To “balance out” the bone marrow, The Mouse also ordered vegetable.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

The Mouse’s opinion, even better than Herringbone’s Brussels sprouts, not vinegary.

To cap off the breakfast/lunch, The Mouse had his favorite at the mall.

Acai Bowl

From the Nordstrom kiosk.

The Mouse had a good eating day! 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.
