Archive for the ‘Leftovers’ Category

The Mouse went to pick up dinner at the neighborhood take-out. He was going to order something from the menu but when he got there, the line was long. Kitchen looked a little hectic. The Mouse decided to go with one of the blackboard specials.

Special #2

Mapo tofu and chicken katsu over rice and mac salad. The Mouse ordered all rice, no mac salad, but the counter and kitchen were slammed. No worries, The Mouse cheated for one day. Leftovers for The Cat’s bento.

For The Cat’s dinner, one oxtail leftover, simmered for several hours (The oxtail was slightly under simmered), half a soup spoon of rice, rehydrated bamboo shoot, shitake mushroom, and wood ear fungus. Cucumbers and frozen vegetables just before service.

Almost the kitchen sink or witch’s brew? Hee hee.

Oxtail, Etcetera Soup

Hearty soup for cooling weather.

Stay safe and well.

The hamburger patty and half baked potato from yesterday.

Lunch

Warmed and topped with pork liver spread. Mmm.

My doctor is probably throwing a fit and to be honest, the food was a little heavy in the stomach, but very tasty, and for a once in awhile eats, worth it. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Leftover creamed spinach from last weekend.

The Mouse played around with The Cat’s rice bowl dinner.

Rice Florentine?

Steamed rice, creamed spinach, steamed egg. It worked. The Cat liked.

🙂

Stay safe and well.

Leftover SPAM and kamaboko in the fridge. Problem when making dishes, ingredient leftover.

The Mouse picked up a tray of one of his favorites.

Tamago Nigiri

Granted, the rice was not the best, sat in the grocery refrigerator. Perfect for saimin soup without noodles. Heh heh.

The rest of the saimin dashi (about 1/4 of the packet), okra, cauliflower, corn, and of course sliced kamaboko and strips of SPAM. Boil water, everyone into the pool (no-recipe), simmer for a couple of minutes, voilà! Hee hee.

Saimin Inspired Vegetable Soup with SPAM and Kamaboko

The soup perfect for offsetting the not so perfect sushi rice. The Mouse can’t complain, the tray was a reduced item. 🙂

The Mouse has enough SPAM and kamaboko for about one more serving, have to get creative (or weird), hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

The Cat’s spaghetti with white clam sauce leftover from The Old Spaghetti Factory.

Kitty Box

Not quite enough for a full meal. The Mouse went to the grocery store.

Haul

The Mouse’s favorite no-recipe “throw everything in and pray for the best” cooking.

Clam Chowder Noodles with Vegetables

Mustard cabbage, corn, and asparagus. The Cat slurped. 🙂

Stay safe and well.
