Manoa Lettuce

The Cat had a seminar yesterday, lunch on your own. The Mouse thought The Cat might want to take cold somen.

Cold Somen

The Mouse didn’t make, picked up from the Korean grocery store. The Mouse also picked up a head of Manoa lettuce, maybe The Cat could use for wrap some of the noodles.

or Green Mignonette.

Instead, The Cat took her minions to the nearby Denny’s.

Plan B.

Water used to cook turnip with turnip, drippings from shoyu pork, with some pork remnants (again, not The Mouse’s), warmed somen noodles (pre-cooked), Manoa lettuce leaves for garnish.

The Cat’s Noodle Dinner Bowl

The Cat slurped.

If it was The Mouse’s bowl, he probably would have topped it with a spoon of Lau Gan Ma. 🙂

The Mouse thinks he really should have been a noodle slinger instead of an accountant. More fun. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Partly cleaning out the refridge.

The Mouse’s lunch did not start out as a “franken” dish, more finishing leftovers. The Cat’s leftover sope. One of the meat managers at the warehouse made spicy tuna, The Mouse couldn’t resist. He figured sope was spicy, spicy tuna was spicy, why not.

Leftover Carnita Sope with Spicy Tuna

Kinda went together, not a perfect fit, but okay.

The Cat’s dinner was really cleaning out the refridge. Coconut milk, leftover pesto bruschetta (bread and all), celery, egg. Throw all together and hope for the best.

The Cat seemed to like, at least didn’t go eww! Hee hee.

Oh, The Mouse might be unplugged for a few days. Changing computer and turkey stuffing, or is it stuffed mouse.

If on, on, if not on, not on. Stay tuned.

Happy Thanksgiving (if you are so inclined).

Enjoy. Eat well.

The warehouse did a partial purge of their freezer. Mostly “sample” items that they cannot sell.

Staff was invited to “repurpose/recycle” before the items were trashed.

The Mouse’s haul:

Free Take

A package of seafood bisque, enoki mushrooms, saimin noodles.

The mushrooms were in the freezer, not the best, a little bit freezer burn but still usable in soup.

The Mouse did his own refridge purge for The Cat’s dinner bowl.

The last of the pork belly soup, eggplant, enoki mushroom, frozen spinach, dark soy sauce, whiskey, salt, and noodles.

Not the prettiest of bowls but tasty.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Smoked salmon leftover from The Cat’s Sunday brunch (the detour).

The Mouse lightly toasted a mini naan flatbread, scrambled an egg, picked a couple leafs of shiso from the outside bucket.

All The Cat had to do was fold and eat.

The Cat Nommed.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse Weird Eats

But you knew that already, didn’t you?

Lunch was a clean out the pantry/refridge/freezer.

Sometimes our storage has remnants, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, not enough to make anything out of it but don’t want to throw it away.

So, The Mouse kinda threw everything together. Not cleared a significant amount of volume space more of a moral victory.

The Mouse’s “Mess”

Pre-cooked pasta, frozen spinach, frozen okra, tin of tuna, natto. Oh and dried parsley from the warehouse kitchen. Not bad for not planned.

Enjoy. Eat well.
