Sunday Pics

Just some Sunday pics.

Bag of Bread Ends

For some odd reason the bakery at the mall cuts the ends off of their sliced bread. The Mouse buys the ends. Not good for sandwich but great for toast. Super cheap too! 🙂

Practice Practice Practice

Radishes and zucchini. The Mouse practicing slicing skills, not good by any means, but maybe a form of meditation? Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse still trying to cook zucchini in the toaster oven.

Raw Zucchini

Thin sliced, grapeseed oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper. Roasted at 300 degrees for fifteen minutes then cranked up the heat to 450 degrees and turned on the convection option.

Roasted Zucchini

The Mouse was satisfied with the result. Not roasted to crispy but enough browning to make the zucchini photogenic. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

No, nothing official, just what The Mouse was eating yesterday Friday. And yes he forgot to press the “publish” button, again. Sigh.

Breakfast, from 7-Eleven.

Kalua Pork and Cabbage over Rice

Kinda appropriate since The Mouse worked on the warehouse’s accounts receivable for 7-Eleven the whole day. Hee hee.

Lunch was home-made leftovers.

Braised Style Kalua Pork with Zucchini

Wasn’t bad, but the dish could have been helped with shredded sun-dried tomatoes added to the mix. None in the pantry and the warehouse doesn’t carry the product. No matter.

Stay safe and well.

The Cat’s bento today, a little change-up from the “norm”.

The Base

Gnocchi with Italian seasoned olive oil and dried parsley (not home made, from the grocery store), just boil and drain.

A quick ground pork and zucchini simmer with canned pasta sauce. Ragout?

The Top

With a side of baked sweet potato for variety.

Stay safe and well.

Baby Zuchinni

Baby Zucchini

Peeled and large cut, with leftover lion head (from AJ’s Chinese Fast Food).

Everyone in the pot

Everyone in the pot

Not a true braise, no cover, didn’t want the zucchini to “yellow”.

Braised Zucchini and Lion Head

Braised Zucchini and Lion Head

There was even enough lion head to make The Cat a bowl of bean thread noodles.

Tomorrow is Friday! 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.
