Chinese restaurant, “catered”, a little worse for wear due to travel, but, still tasty. 🙂

Plate Lunch

Mixed vegetables with mushrooms, eggplant and tofu, Chinese egg noodles, green beans, rice. Lotsa food, at least two meals. Mmm.

Because of the weather, The Cat and The Mouse a bit soggy, trying to stay dry.

Stay safe and well.

Take-out from a hospital, The Mouse visiting a relative.

Manchurian Cauliflower Plate Lunch

Rice, zucchini, and the Manchurian cauliflower. The Mouse thinks the cauliflower was breaded then baked, not to much oil. Interesting taste/texture, The Mouse thinking spicy chicken nuggets, vegetarian style, maybe. The Mouse didn’t mind.

Stay safe and well.

The Cat wanted to start the new year with good eats. This restaurant was supposed to be a “long-term” pop-up that turned into an extended open-end venture. Confused? Hee hee.

The Cat’s

Baked Shrimp “A La Escargot”

Cafe de Paris butter. The Cat liked. The Mouse wished it was served with a bowl of rice, a little shoyu, and a fried egg to use all of the butter. Hee hee.

The Mouse’s

Beef Tartare

With crispy baguette. The Mouse liked.

Red & Green Salad

Roasted pear, Gorgonzola, aged Balsamic vinaigrette. The Mouse’s was Gorgonzola

The Cat’s

Scallops Risotto

Hamakua mushroom, “Vialone Nano Rice”, Parmesan Cream. the Cat thought slightly salty, took half home to mix with regular rice.

The Mouse’s

Falafel, hummus, smoked eggplant, lettuce leaves, pickled vegetables. The Mouse liked.

The Cat’s

Mango Kulfi

Gastronault yogurt, pistachio, 24K gold. The Cat liked.

There was no dessert for The Mouse that was dairy sensitive friendly, he ended up with two chocolate chip cookies.

Stay safe and well.

Eaten on the same day as the vegetarian chili. Coincidence? Conspiracy? Nah, just in the mood. Hee hee.

Started with.

Deep Fried Tofu

The Mouse said it was vegetarian, not necessarily healthy. Hee hee.

Faux Ground Beef

Same brand as the faux chicken strips The Mouse was not a fan of. The “beef” crumble was much better. The Mouse would buy this “crumble” again. Paw up.

Frozen Spinach

Nuked the whole thing at the warehouse for lunch. Not bad. The Mouse made the mistake of salting the spinach before nuking. The crumple had enough seasoning for the tofu and the spinach without extra salt. Next time, no salting.

So, The Mouse is trying to cut back on the volume and frequency of consuming carbs. Not cutting out entirely, just limiting. At the doctor’s scale yesterday, lost a few pounds, long way to go, but at least going in the right direction. Yay!

Enjoy. Eat well.
