This week’s soup bones.

Pork Bones

Not sure which bones these are, not leg bones, not ribs, possibly neck. Not too much marrow. Cooked a shorter time than the feet, took out the bones and shredded the meat.

Soup Meat

The Mouse not decided what to do with the meat yet.

Bitter Melon

Farmers market. May go into the shredded pork meat soup, maybe not. Dunno.

Potato and Butterfish

Leftover banchan from The Mouse’s lunch, small piece of miso butterfish from the grocery store. Super easy, toaster oven 10 to 12 minutes.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Desk dining.

Happy Friday!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Squash and Chicken

Mid-week one-pot braise.

Dunno actual name, we call in Chinese squash, probably not real name.

Braised with a piece of leftover grilled chicken.

Braised Squash with Chicken

Simple. No recipe. Salt and pepper to taste. Oh yeah, a couple of drops of whiskey, just to keep all the ingredients “happy”. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Brussels Sprouts

More vegetables The Cat brought home. The Brussels sprouts had seen better days. Took a bit of cleaning to get them into decent edible shape.

Brussels Sprouts Prep

Olive oil (more than just a splash), a couple of drops of liquid smoke, salt.

“Double baked” (or toaster ovened). Hee hee.

First 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Then, as The Cat is commuting, another 15 minutes at 475 degrees.

Toaster Ovened Brussels Sprouts

The Cat prefers the crispy ones. The Mouse gotta get a heavy duty blow torch, no dainty creme brulee torch. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Instant noodles, convenient, most times, the flavor packets are tossed.

Kimchi Flavor

The Cat brought home a head of Napa cabbage that has seen better days. Even soaking in cold water didn’t revive the outer leaves.

The Mouse salvaged what he could.

Napa Cabbage

Boiled with half of the instant noodle flavor packet.

Napa Cabbage, Kimchi Flavor

Actually worked out better than The Mouse thought. No oil, tasty cabbage, not ingesting all of the packet, just flavor. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.
