Yuzu, Tomato Soup, and Bologna :)

Odds and ends.

The Cat saw a jar of preserved yuzu (sweetened) at Costco. Way too big. The Mouse bought a much smaller jar at the grocery store.

Preserved Yuzu

Think marmalade without the pectin, liquidy. Add a small amount to hot water, drink.

The Cat hasn’t tried yet. Caught a bug (maybe a cold). Needed tomato soup.

Finally, The Mouse “assembled” a bologna sandwich. A classic dad “no recipe”. Old school.

White bread, bologna slices (had to have the plastic red “skin”), and yellow mustard, Pop was not a Grey Poupon kinda guy. Nothing fancy, gets the job done. 🙂

From neighborhood Japanese/Pho restaurant. This soup fed The Cat for three dinners. Good deal. 🙂

Tomato Soup with Sardines – Part II

Adding Worcestershire sauce to the soup, one of the ingredients is anchovies. Yay!

Added less than a teaspoon to the mix.

Tomato Soup with Sardines

One of those days, “don’t let The Mouse into the kitchen unsupervised”. Hee hee.

Tomato Soup and Sardines

Heat the soup as per instructions on can, add sardines (and oil) just before serving.

Sounds weird, but worked, for The Mouse anyway. A riff on tinned sardines in tomato sauce. Bouillabaisse? Cioppino? Maybe in spirit. Hee hee.

Chunky Tomato Soup

Leftover pastries from the warehouse.

Ham and Cheese Croissant, Tuna Bun

The Mouse made soup. Not really made soup. More like open cans and throw everything into a pot kinda “made”.

Chopped the tomato, and everything into the pot.

Oh yeah, also threw in a spoonful or so of canned corn (with water), just ’cause The Mouse found it in the refridge. Hee hee.
