Ground pork, salt, pepper, dark and light shoyu, ginger powder, vodka, sugar, and a drop of orange extract.

Brown, add tofu, braise.

The Cat’s Bento

With boiled turnip and roasted sweet potato (not pictured). Think mapo tofu without the heat, more teriyaki flavor.

Braces Food (Throwback)

When The Mouse had braces on, several years ago, not for cosmetic but TMJ related. The majority of The Mouse’s food.

Packaged tofu (the shelf-stable, no refrigeration needed type), shoyu, maybe sesame oil. The previous version (when The Mouse still had braces on) did not have the sesame seeds (would have been torture to try and clean the sesame seeds out of the braces).

This version was Sunday’s breakfast, The Mouse maybe had a whiff of nostalgia? Dunno. Haven’t eaten this in years. While the braces were on, The Mouse got to the point, couldn’t stand tofu any longer. The estimated time that the braces were supposed to be on was almost doubled in reality. Too much. But as the years passed, it’s now ok.

And the TMJ symptoms, gone. 🙂 As a bonus, the teeth are straighter. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Local diner chain, Zippy’s. Original plan was to get their vegetarian chili, The Mouse loves their vegetarian chili, there’s corn in it. Yum!

The Mouse got sidetracked by their daily special. “Korean” style fried tofu nuggets.

The complete meal option.

Portuguese Bean Soup

With King’s Hawaiian Sweet Bread Roll. I know the roll supposedly has very little nutritional value, but off the scale in comfort food value. 🙂

Korean Fried Tofu Nuggets

With brown rice and corn, try to eat healthier, hee hee. The nuggets were good, not spicy enough, a side of kimchi would have been great.

Blueberry Turnover

Super flaky, not fresh blueberries, jam/paste, but full. Nom!

Enjoy. Eat well.
