A revisit to Simply Sichuan.

Twice Cooked Pork

The main ingredient is pork belly. The pork is simmered until soft, then stir-fried with vegetables. The Mouse thought the pork should be crispy but The Cat’s brother said otherwise. If (and a big if), The Mouse attempt this dish, the pork will be crisped. ๐Ÿ™‚

Spicy Eggplant on Fried Rice

A lunch special. Ordered mild. Quantity was ginormous, enough for three meals. ๐Ÿ™‚

Stir-Fried Lotus Root

Nom.

The Cat also ordered a bowl of dan dan noodles (same as last week).

Stay safe and well.

Special #2 :)

Neighborhood Chinese/drive-inn take-out (dinner was this or Panda Express). Hee hee.

Special #2

All rice (no mac salad), spicy eggplant, chicken katsu. Enough food to contribute to four meals. ๐Ÿ™‚

Panda Express has its place, but not last night. Supporting small local business.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse was thinking about this combo for dinner last night, spicy eggplant and chicken katsu. The Mouse’s go-to take out neighborhood joint just so happened had that combo last night. The Mouse saved a dollar-fifty, score!

Special Combo #2

All rice, no mac salad. Two scoops of the rice, half of the spicy eggplant, and about a third of the chicken katsu saved for The Cat’s bento next week. Nom!

The perfect “pickle” to cut the richness of the meal.

Fresh Cucumber Kimchi

Not too fermented, fresh. Yum!

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Cat had a dinner meeting. The Mouse hunts for food. First option was a steak. Not fancy steakhouse, but Italian cafe up the street or Ruby Tuesday. But then, leftovers, The Cat wouldn’t eat (beef). Next option, “dive” bar near work. Yelp pictures of pork chop and fried rice are intriguing, probably too much food, wait for a group.

Finally, drive inn up the street. Mixed plate.

Spicy Eggplant and Chicken Katsu

Forgot to ask for all rice, no salad. Next time.

Small Fried Rice with Two Eggs

Portions are very generous. The Mouse ate about a third of the plate lunch, and half of the fried rice (with one egg).

The Cat’s bento is packed. Still enough food for at least one more meal. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cost less than one moderately priced steak meal. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.
