Yesterday’s lunch.

“Recycled” from JJ2 Bakery. Thought it was appropriate since the bread was from there. Plus I think the graphics is cute.

Meat between bread

Meat between bread

Prosciutto Di Parma, Prosciutto San Danielle, and Speck Alto Adige combo with honey mustard on wheat bread. I know, mixing the meat might be sacrilegious, but it’s my sandwich.

For dinner.

Started with these.

Toasted Bun

Added a pan warmed taro “burger”.

Taro “Burger” on Toasted Bun

Picked the taro burger a couple of weeks ago at the farmers’ market.

The “burger” tasted great. The texture, not so much. Seems an issue to me for all “vegan” patties I’ve tried so far. Just not “meaty”. Maybe next patty, I’ll use it as a base for chili or eggs or something. Just not as a “burger”.

Happy Friday! Hope you didn’t overindulge last night.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Yesterday started off well.

Roast Pork with Gravy - "Mini" Portion

The Famous Roast Pork with Gravy – “Mini” Portion

From Tsukenjo’s. The regular would have put me in a food coma. Owner is very generous with her portions.

Dinner was planned to be veggies, to balance out the lunch.

But then, remember these?

Prosciutto San Danielle and Speck

Prosciutto San Danielle and Speck

Had to taste test them before using them in a sandwich, it’s the scientific thing to do. Heh heh.

Speck on top Prosciutto on bottom

With crackers. Yum. The Prosciutto had a more “fermented” taste. The speck more “hammy”.

The finished off with a cookie.

Oatmeal Cookie from Starbucks

Oatmeal Cookie from Starbucks

Very dangerous to have a Starbucks near the bus stop.

Anyway, a good food day.

Are you wearing (or drinking) green today?

Enjoy. Eat well.

Last night, too tired to “cook”, just picked up something from 7-Eleven and Starbucks on the way home.

Tuna Melt on Sweet Bread and Cherry Oat Bar

Threw both into the toaster oven (more on that in a future post) and in five minutes … dinner.

Picked these up the other day.

Prosciutto San Danielle and Speck

Speck

Tonight, Chef brought out a chunk of Italian Speck. Chef usually adds it to his daily pasta or risotto dishes. Here’s the Wikipedia link:¬†http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speck

Italian Speck

He must’ve been hungry because started shaving ¬†pieces off and munching on it. He also shaved samples for the staff (me included). First time for me to try Speck. Had it on some of the house bread. Pretty tasty. Tasted like a cross between salami and ham or bacon to me.

One of the benefits of helping in the kitchen.

The adventure continues.

Enjoy. Eat well.
