The Mouse running errands after work yesterday, The Cat left work relatively early. No time to prep and cook. Quick run to Pan’s Kitchen (new favorite cheap eats spot) for dindin.

Front

Notice the breakfast special in the window, offered all day.

Shoyu Pork Bowl with Egg, Broccoli Extra

The Cat’s order, she said not bad, but The Mouse’s simmered pork belly much softer and juicier.

Breakfast Special

Rice, two eggs, corned beef hash, The Mouse’s order, with ketchup, sriracha, and shoyu accompaniments.

The Cat still doesn’t understand how The Mouse can eat breakfast for dinner, dinner (leftovers) for breakfast. To The Mouse, food has no time table, food is food. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Leaving work, half-day. The Mouse feeling a little drained. For one of the few times, The Mouse interest in food was waning. Luckily on the way home is a Japanese style delicatessen. The Mouse’s interest perked up. Hee hee.

The Mouse’s Take Out

Onigiri, inari, braised eggplant, shoyu pork, nishime. A good balance of starch, veggies, and meat.

The veggies will help move things through The Mouse’s system and the pork definitely help healing. Hee hee.

The Mouse couldn’t finish the pork and part of the nishime. Maybe in a future home ramen bowl?

Enjoy the weekend!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Yesterday, abnormal schedule. packed light, no home bento nor oatmeal for The Mouse.

Breakfast.

Oatcake

And lots of coffee.

Testing samples.

Noodles

Not you can distinguish, there are three different noodles/pasta samples (from Japan). Thin (kinda ramen-ish), medium (think thin udon), and thick (pasta). The Mouse liked the thin and medium, the thick was a bit too chewy for The Mouse.

Lunch was from the lunch wagon that stops by. The Mouse got lucky, shoyu pork!

Shoyu Pork, Greens

The Mouse really trying to cut down on the carbs hence the all greens request (usually comes with two scoops of rice).

The shoyu pork wasn’t pork belly, but lunch wagon chef cooked it perfectly, tender, tasty. Definitely a reorder item.

Super late night, thank goodness Micky D’s offer their breakfast burrito all day and night long. No picture.

Sriracha from the pantry and The Mouse is good.

The Mouse completed the day with an oatmeal cookie, also from Micky D’s. Oatcake for breakfast, oatmeal cookie at the end. The Circle was complete. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Weather is still too humid for long cooking in the kitchen. Bleh. Easier to let someone else sweat in their kitchen. Hee hee.

The makings of The Cat’s bentos for the next two weekdays.

Two Choice

Fried rice, mochiko chicken?, steamed vegetables, and shoyu pork.

Two Choice, The Sequel

Steamed rice, Mapo tofu, steamed vegetables, Chinese roast pork.

The Mouse did steam up several Okinawan sweet potatoes as his contribution to The Cat’s bentos. 🙂

The Mouse picked up an ume musubi from the Japanese warehouse market.

The Mouse’s Sampler

The Mouse taste testing. Hee hee.

The Mouse even got a little more to graze for dinner. 😉

Enjoy. Eat well.

A rush to the farmers market after work. A nice bunch of watercress.

Watercress

Reasonably priced, nice and fresh (picture does not do it justice).

Part of the “everything but the kitchen sink soup” for The Cat.

“Vegetable” Soup

The watercress (of course), eggplant, okra, bitter melon, green beans, one piece of shoyu pork, pumpkin, and an egg.

The Cat slurped.

Emjoy. Eat well.
