Sorry, ugly pic.

The Mouse Food

Leftover pork rib (from The Cat’s Sunday dinner), ahi poke, and a roast beef sandwich (reduced price) enhanced with shiso leaves from the bucket.

Not pretty but tasty and filling.

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse way.

First, the most basic burger from Mickey D’s. The Mouse splurged and added tomato slices.

The Mouse’s Plate

Shiso leaves from our bucket for “lettuce”, dribbles of tartar sauce for “special sauce”, an orange and starfruit to round out the eats. Nom!

A Costco dog. The Mouse doesn’t like piling on the condiments, he likes them on the side.

The Basic Costco Dog

The Mouse used his empty lunch container for the condiments. Yellow mustard, brown mustard, ketchup, relish, lots of onions, the works. Container got a little James Bond (shaken, not stirred) on the way home. No worries. Kinda Jackson Pollock! Hee hee!

Condiments for The Dog

Shiso Leaf Drink

While we were away, our shiso plant kept growing (duh!). Some of the leaves got a little too big (read too tough) to eat. I was picking them and using them to fertilize the plant until I came across this post (http://justhungry.com/fresh-shiso-leaf-tea) to make a drink out of the leaves.

Instead of making green tea this morning, I made the shiso infusion.

Shiso Infusion

Nice fragrance, minty taste, not bad. I’ll try this again, but for now, I prefer to infuse mint leaves over shiso leaves. Maybe I’ll try the shiso and tea combo.

Thanks for the tip Maki.

Enjoy. Drink well.
