So a week ago was mooncake day? Both The Cat and The Mouse were too busy. Plus hard to go to Chinatown.

The Mouse picked up some take-out yesterday. In The Mouse’s mind, worthy substitutes, Hee hee.

Fried Mochi Balls

Two bite sized. Perfect. No, The Mouse did not eat them all in one sitting. Warms up great in the toaster oven. The Cat is refraining, still on antibiotics.

Of course, The Mouse made a meal. Hee hee again.

Rice Cake, Char Siu Manapua

One last “must have”, according to The Mouse. ๐Ÿ™‚

Roast Pork and Char Siu

Enough for a couple of days. Nom!

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse was still jonesing for a good pork meal after the tiny crispy pork “experience” (misadventure? mistranslation?). Had to quick stop at the warehouse yesterday, and since The Mouse was in the area …

Picked-up lunch from Meg’s Drive In, one of the few places that still serves Green River regularly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Roast Pork Plate Lunch

With mac salad and gravy! Mmm, tender pork, bits of fat, and an added bonus, stufffing! Nom!

Green River

Perfect meal, The Mouse was full and satiated.

Stay safe and well.

Diner Eats

The Cat was craving oxtail soup. The diner-ish/coffee shop-ish eatery at the mall (since we were already there last minute shopping), Liliha Bakery.

Oxtail Soup

Nice. The soup even had a piece of fatty tail, the best! Only thing missing was the mustard cabbage. No biggie, sorta. Hee hee.

The Mouse went with another local classic.

Roast Pork with Gravy

The pork cooked well, fall apart and moist. Gravy, nothing fancy but smooth and savory. Nom!

The Mouse is thinking about next time requesting gravy on the rice too. Mmm!

And of course, the famous/infamous butter rolls with neon jelly.

Butter Rolls with Neon Jelly

The Mouse’s new favorite eat spot at the mall. Good food, fair price. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy. Eat well.

Korean grocery store.

Fried Rice Inari, Gimbap

From previous post, The Mouse cannot resist inari sushi. Different from the Japanese inari sushi The Mous is used to, more savory, less sweet, still good. The gimbap was a bonus.

“Teishoku?” TV Dinner? Dunno

Chinese roast pork, Korean inari and gimbap, natto, Asian pear, celery, banana (hiding, shy). Nom!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Blood test yesterday. Fasting before. Hungry after. Need breakfast.

Times Coffee Shop. Special of the Day.

Roast Pork Loco Moco

Western style roast pork, not Chinese style. Pork butt not pork belly. Okay, could’ve used a bit (just a bit) more fat. Still good. Excellent brown gravy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Banana Pancake

Told ya, The Mouse was hungry. Hee hee. One of the better banana pancakes in a while, veryย  banana-y flavor, Dunno, along with the bananas, maybe chef added some banana extract to the batter.

The view.

Ko`olau Mountains

Dreams of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” or Misty Mountains?

The Mouse was satiated. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.
