Hot Dog Croissant?

Discount rack at the neighborhood grocery store. Since The Mouse didn’t buy a hot dog at Costco the last visit, hee hee.

Hot Dog Croissant

Croissant pastry wrapped around a hot dog. Not gourmet, not pretty, but tasty. Happy mouse. ๐Ÿ™‚

If The Mouse is lucky enough to find more of these hot dog croissants on the discount shelf, timing is everything, a repeat purchase is

Otherwise, not much happening in the kitchen. The Mouse made another batch of tonic soup for The Cat’s late-night office meals.

Stay safe and well.

Holiday Pastries

The Cat bought several boxes of pastries to give to clients, brought a few home to taste.

Scones

Mango and cranberry. Small, not dry, The Mouse would eat again.

Muffins

Bran and blueberry. Not bad, the scones were better.

Some Kinda Mousse Pastry

Raspberry, pistachio, and chocolate flavored. Good and rich. Probably eat very infrequently.

Hope your holiday season is going well.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sweet Tooth

The Mouse has one. Usually he keeps it under control but yesterday The Mouse ran errands and picked from two places.

Almond Croissant, Matcha Scone

The croissant from a new-ish coffee shop, the scone from Bits & Bites, The Mouse visited before.

More Croissant and Scones

Plain croissant, guava, ube, and blueberry scones. The Mouse shares with the Cat.

And a treat to drink.

Lilikoi Fizz

Lilikoi puree topped with sparkling water, The Mouse thinks Perrier. Mmm.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse “voluntold” for last minute “corporate” shopping for The Cat. Chocolates from The Halekulani. Since he was there, picked up a few thing for ourselves. A croissant, a banana and coconut pastry thingy, and a loaf of fig and nut bread.

The Mouse wasn’t thinking straight, too tired sitting in holiday traffic, forgot to take pics of the pastries after bring them home. Tried to this morning from the freezer, the result.

Banana and Coconut Pastry Thingy?

A bit too frosty. Oops.

The Mouse also went to looking for packaging. On to Walmart, ugh, more “congestion”.

So, lately, The Mouse has been trying to eat smaller portions. the food bags we have are a little too big, The Mouse picked up something that reminded him of small-kid time hanabata days.

Sandwich Bags

And not just any sandwich bags, these have been infused with “The Force”. Hee hee.

I have not seen any of the “third” series of films, the three “prequels” kind of killed the franchise for The Mouse, possibly will see the last of the nine for nostalgia. Are you planning to see? Are you a fan?

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Mouse frequently does it, The Cat has fits. Hee hee.

Yesterday’s eating log.

Breakfast

Kalua pork and cabbage over rice. Could be lunch or dinner, The Mouse decided for breakfast ๐Ÿ™‚

Lunch

Nico’s at Pier 38, supervisor treated the group.

Furikake Pan Seared Ahi: Fresh tuna Ahi steak coated with Japanese dried seaweed and sesame seeds then cooked to order, from rare to well done. Served with Nicoโ€™s ginger garlic cilantro dip.

Okay, this could be lunch, but The Mouse thinks more dinner.

Dinner got a little complicated. The Mouse was jonesing for bakery stuff. Dinner rolls.

First stop Zippy’s. No dinner rolls, but The Mouse was enticed with some of their offerings.

In the Box

Bread pudding, cornbread, pumpkin coffee cake, pumpkin donut (baked not fried), and a mochizada? Mochi flour made into a malasada-like pastry. Much less oil than a regular malasada (at least the ones from Leonard’s anyway), much denser. not bad. Buy again? Maybe.

A visit to old school institution on this side of the island.

Front Door

Cash only, no checks, no credit/debit cards. Old school.

A package of dinner rolls.

Package

No individual, had to buy a dozen.

Must say though these are the bomb! Just buttery enough, soft, not soggy, probably not health food, but comfort food. Thumbs up, socks off.

Dinner Rolls

Also had a bowl of oatmeal, to make-up for breakfast. Hee hee.

Now, what to do with the rest of the package, hmm, maybe SPAM sliders or breakfast sliders. Nom!

Enjoy. Eat well.
