The Cat bought discounted gift cards at Costco. She used to frequent the restaurant but relocation of her office made it less accessible. The Cat had to use an expiring discount at Macy’s, good opportunity.

The Cat and The Mouse decided to share one pasta and one salad to cut down on calories.

Cappellini Pasta with Meat Sauce

The Cat added on fresh spinach, fresh mushroom, and roasted tomato.

Chopped Salad

The salad doesn’t look like much but hidden was roasted chicken and salami. Mmm!

Crunchy Brussels Sprouts

Perfect accompaniment. 🙂

Be safe, eat good.

Hamburger

The Mouse’s order. The Mouse took three-fourths of the patty home. Somehow, the hamburger patty taste better the next day, go figure. 🙂

Mudd Pie

Mmm!

Be safe, eat good.

Weekend Eats

The Cat wanted to shop for a light hoodie. A venture to the mall. Lunch at Nordstrom, Ruscello.

Tomato Basil Soup

Daily Pasta

Butternut squash and Italian ham? The Mouse forgot the description. The Cat thought it was okay. The Mouse played Russian roulette with the leftovers (The Mouse took two lactase pills). The Mouse survived. Hee hee.

The Mouse ordered a salad.

Cauliflower Salad

All vegetable, no starch. Salad was very good, just didn’t last too long. The Mouse got hungry soon after.

Be safe, eat good.

Plan “C”

Zia Cafe, new owner (about a year now), new chef (same time). When the changeover happened, The Cat and The Mouse were a little discombobulated. Some staple menu items were dropped, items were added with higher cost. The chef use to run the kitchen at a high-end wine bar, his menu mods kinda reflected his past pedigree. (The Mouse’s opinion).

For dinner, The Cat and The Mouse were heading to the neighborhood Japanese/Pho restaurants (one of our go-to’s) but they closed for the holiday. Sigh.

Plan B, chop suey house. But we were last there last week.

Plan C, a detour. Zia Cafe. Try try, revisit.

Penne Pasta Primavera

Penne Pasta Meat Sauce

Good basic bowls. The Cat and The Mouse’s new strategy for the cafe, stick to the basics, not the fancy stuff.

Highpoint of the dinner was the desserts.

Ube Cookies and Cream Gelato & Strawberry Guava Sorbet

One with dairy, one without, Mmm!

Be safe and well.

Be safe and well.
