Leaving work, half-day. The Mouse feeling a little drained. For one of the few times, The Mouse interest in food was waning. Luckily on the way home is a Japanese style delicatessen. The Mouse’s interest perked up. Hee hee.

The Mouse’s Take Out

Onigiri, inari, braised eggplant, shoyu pork, nishime. A good balance of starch, veggies, and meat.

The veggies will help move things through The Mouse’s system and the pork definitely help healing. Hee hee.

The Mouse couldn’t finish the pork and part of the nishime. Maybe in a future home ramen bowl?

Enjoy the weekend!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Yesterday was a good day for eating. The Mouse stayed late at work (on a Friday no less) … but The Mouse ate “well”.

Breakfast, same as yesterday. Oatcake and coffee.

Warehouse supplies the workers with coffee, but the selections can be a bit harsh at times. The nearby 7-Eleven has a 20% Kona blend, mellower.

Lunch was a tiny bit of a splurge. Japanese delicatessen.

“Mini Plate”

Shiso onigiri, kakuni (three big pieces), and tamagoyaki. The Mouse was happy.

Norma Desmond Shot

Pork was well cooked. Not soft, but fall off the bone texture.

The Cat’s lunch at one of the Irish pubs in town. Owner’s wife makes fresh pie only on Friday.

Shrimp and Crab Melt

The Cat’s sandwich, came with a side salad.

Berry Pie

The Cat brought home a slice for The Mouse. Not too sweet, lots of berry taste. Nom!

A good eating day for The Mouse.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Driving home after work.

Double Rainbow

Mind started playing ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’, the Judy Garland version, not the Iz version. Hee hee.

Don’t get me wrong, The Mouse loves the Iz version, just it wasn’t playing in my head at the moment.

Picked up on the way.

Onigiri

Ume and wakame, edamame and seaweed. Thoughts wander over to Zatoichi.

Zatoichi and Judy Garland soundtrack. Told ya weird. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

Sorta.

Started with this.

Box

We have sooooo much tea at home, time to start thinning the inventory. The Cat’s connections think we drink tea in SPAM land like they drink tea at home.

Tea Leaves

With tea, the normal breakfast sandwich, or toast for that matter, wouldn’t quite fit. So …

SPAM Onigiri and Japanese Rolled Omelet

The portable version of SPAM and eggs. Hee hee.

Then, boss #2 (think Star Trek: The Next Generation) brings in dim sum.

Dim Sum

Steamed dumplings, pork hash, fried seaweed and shrimp. Perfect with tea. Hee hee #2.

Another “portable version”. Hee hee #2.

The Mouse ate the dim sum plate for lunch, thank goodness for office microwaves. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.
