Oatmeal and Fava Beans

Leftover rehydrated fava beans, oatmeal, wakame seaweed. The Mouse wanted savory breakfast but also wanted oatmeal. Actually not bad. Not everyday, but once in a while. While eating, The Mouse was thinking about the movie Oliver. Hee hee.

Turmeric Ramen with Cauliflower and Fishcake

The Mouse did not use the included soup packet, sea salt (little bit), and turmeric instead. Not yellow snow. Hee hee.

Be safe and well.

Time: Evening.

The Mouse ordered at MickyD’s (through the digital kiosk in the restaurant) two oatmeal cookies. Seemed straight-forward. No?

The Mouse got in his order two chocolate chip cookies (not complaining) and two containers of oatmeal with diced apples, raisins, and cranberries (still not complaining).

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Server said location didn’t serve oatmeal cookies, only chocolate chip. But oatmeal option was listed on the menu board (oops, mistake). Also, kitchen saw oatmeal on the order and thought oatmeal. Oh well, honest mistake. The Mouse was going to take the two paid for cookies, manager said to take the oatmeal too. The Cat gets two free breakfasts.

As The Mouse was walking out, the scene from the movie Cool Hand Luke was playing in his mind. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse had a thought (which could be weird), savory oatmeal. Apparently, The Mouse is not the only one. more than a few pages on the internet. Basically think of oatmeal as a grain, which it is.

The Mouse used a package of instant original (unflavored) oatmeal, dehydrated vegetable, a little bit of white miso.

Ingredients Assembled

Added hot water, stirred, and waited.

Savory Oatmeal

This was very good (The Mouse surprised himself). Think risotto, or rice porridge. Too bad The Mouse couldn’t add cream or cheese. But still good on its own. Best ingredient was the miso. Will definitely do this again. Maybe mushrooms, bacon, sardines maybe?, sauteed onions? fried SPAM? Yes! The list (and The Mouse’s imagination) goes on. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.
