Roasted yams.

Roasted Yams

The grocery store that offers roasted yams had some kinda mix-up. Not available. The Mouse roasted yams himself. For The Cat’s bento.

The Mouse finds that roasting in a pan with water results in easier cleanup and softer potato.

The other nearby grocery store does daily markdowns of their deli and bakery products in the later afternoon. The Mouse scored.

Package

The Mouse felt the bag, kinda weighty. Bought on a whim.

Shrimp Tempura

About ten shrimp. Not expecting sushi bar experience, but for the price, score. 🙂

Mini Naan Bread

The shrimp, the naan bread, and a chocolate donut, everything three dollars and change. Woohoo! 🙂

Cleaning the Pantry, Seriously

The Mouse rearranged the pantry, a couple of cans near the expiration date.

SPAM and Refried Beans

Threw everything onto a plate and toaster ovened.

The Mouse’s Dinner

A dash of chipotle sauce on the beans, a piece of naan bread (also toaster ovened). The beans kinda acted like hummus, it’s all good. 🙂

A Riff on Smoked Salmon

Smoked salmon leftover from The Cat’s Sunday brunch (the detour).

The Mouse lightly toasted a mini naan flatbread, scrambled an egg, picked a couple leafs of shiso from the outside bucket.

Scrambled Egg and Smoked Salmon Naan “Sandwich”

All The Cat had to do was fold and eat.

The Cat Nommed.
