The Mouse went to order one yesterday, front desk had no clue, manager had no clue. The Mouse didn’t have the website on his phone to show them. The Mouse left.

“Oh thank heaven for 7-Eleven”, especially in SPAM Land. And good luck, 7-Eleven running a special, buy two SPAM musubi, get one free. The Mouse scored.

The Mouse ate two for lunch, one for dinner with sliced Napa cabbage and cucumber. Mmm!

7-Eleven is building a new store closer to home, good news or bad news, maybe a little of both. Hee hee.

Hokkaido Corndog?

A musubi/bento shop in the neighborhood. The Mouse occasionally picks up an ume (pickled plum) musubi “sandwich”. On the counter are a couple of corn dogs labeled “Hokkaido” corndog. A “normal” corndog sprinkled with sugar. The was skeptical but willing to try try.

The shop makes musubi more like rice sandwiches. Hee hee.

So, The Hokkaido corndog was okay, a little too sweet for The Mouse. If buy again, The Mouse would compliment the sugar with a light sprinkle of Korean red chili pepper powder (Gochugaru?), fine ground. Add a bit of color and small amount of heat. 🙂

Fried Fish

The Mouse did some contract work over the weekend. The Mouse’s opinion, more than full-time work, part-time schedule, always behind.

Picked up a quick lunch from 7-Eleven (on route).

Massive Musubi

The warehouse food safety officer cooking again, with the owner’s blessing. He is actually a chef but needed a break from everyday kitchen. The Mouse guesses sometime he needs to unleash his creative juices. Plus the warehouse is moving location, trying to use remnant ingredients, lessen the load to move.

SPAM, egg, surimi crab salad, almost everything but the kitchen sink. Very tasty if not messy. 🙂
