Dinner with The Cat’s brother. Michel’s at the Colony Surf. Chef’s choice.

Amuse Bouche

Smoked pork, poached mango, smashed Okinawan sweet potato. Nom!

Soup

Signature lobster bisque, tableside flambe.

Salad

Shaved endive, shrimp, grapes.

Seafood Course

Grilled mahi, asparagus, luau ravioli? (didn’t quite understand Chef H), lobster claw, smashed Okinawan sweet potato. The Cat, CB, and The Mouse liked.

Intermission

Kalamansi sorbet with blueberry.

Meat Course

Bacon wrapped Filet Mignon, foie gras, starfruit, pickled beets, Haricots Verts, smashed potato, mushroom risotto, demi-glace. The Mouse’s favorite dish of the night. 🙂

Dessert

Bananas Foster, tableside flambe.

As always, food and service, and view, never fails to exceed expectations. CB was impressed.

On a side note, The Mouse will be off-line for several days. Posting “placeholders” for that time. Be back soon.

Michel’s Ocean Bounty

Lobster, scallop, oyster, blackened ahi, and forgot what else.

There was also a seafood en papilotte dish that The Mouse somehow didn’t get a picture of, still getting used to the new phone.

The flourless chocolate cake for dessert also did not make it into The Mouse’s phone. Sigh.

Hope they enjoyed themselves, always good to get together with family. 🙂

Back to Michel’s. Last time, with the group from Australia, The Cat and The Mouse could not fully appreciate the food. Too busy playing “hosts”.

Original plan was to order from the menu, items that we wanted to try. Chef Hardy had other plans.

Amuse Bouche

Salmon tartare on toast, a demitasse of Vichyssoise.

Iced Harvest of the Sea

King Crab, Maine Lobster, Abalone, Ahi Poke, Hamachi, Ahi Sashimi, Oysters,  Prawns, Spanish Galician Octopus

The receding sun was playing havoc to picture taking. It’s all good.

Helix Escargots Bourgogne

Half-a-dozen French snails, in Michel’s famous herbed-garlic butter. The Cat was happy, and getting full.

Tableside Prepping

 

Warm Baby Spinach Salad

Garnished with Macadamia Nuts Over Warm Bacon &  Marinated Shiitake Mushrooms Drizzled with Onion Vinaigrette

One of the best spinach salads (it’s all about the dressing).
