Soy Beans, Soup, Pasta, Meatballs

The Mouse has not bought frozen soybeans for years, for various reasons. Saw at the grocery store the other day.
Country of origin is Thailand, much better. Plus package was on sale.
The Mouse made a soybean, wakame, frozen spinach soup for lunch.
The Mouse used a little too much shoyu in the base, hence the darkened color. Not good for picture, tasty though. 🙂
The Cat brought home her leftover from lunch for The Mouse.
The Cat is acquiring the taste for meat sauce, would not have eaten before. Side note, she is trying a little spicer foods too.
Along with the pasta, The Cat ordered two side order meatballs to complete The Mouse’s meal. 🙂

Steakhouse Eats, Part II

The main food. The Cat ordered salmon.
Served on a bed of sweet corn, yellow and zucchini squash, cauliflower rice, edamame, fresh basil, blistered tomatoes, salsa verde, and grilled lemon. The Cat said salmon was cooked perfectly.
The Mouse went the menu less traveled, since everything was ala carte, ordered two appetizers.
Thick-cut, soy-caramel glazed. Mmm. Texture was chewy, taste reminded The Mouse of fried SPAM, in a good way. Hee hee.
Sans Parmesan cheese. Very good, definite order again.
Sides were large portions to share.
With bacon and shallots.
Server recommended the mushrooms with onions but with The Cat digestion issues with onions …
Actually, the spinach and mushrooms were very good too.

Meat that is. Hee hee. A take-out from the neighborhood Italian cafe.
Spaghetti and Meatballs
The picture does not do the dish justice. Sorry. The Mouse usually likes his pasta a little softer than al dente. He thinks the ride home steamed the pasta to just right. Hee hee.
Restaurant is very generous with their portions, especially with pasta, so The Mouse ordered a small with extra meatball. Paws up.
Good deal, during take-out only lock-down, restaurant is offering a 15% discount. Thumb up!
The Mouse thinks next time, he might splurge with another meatball, meat sauce, and mushrooms! Go big! 🙂

B-Day Dinner #3

Shrimp Scampi
The Cat’s order. She was going to order the sweet potato ravioli but had to have long noodles last night (ancient Chinese tradition).
Spaghetti and Meatballs
The Mouse’s order. Try try. Not bad.
Both The Cat and The Mouse took home “doggy” (or more appropriately kitty and mousey) bags for lunch the next day.
Dessert was free from JJ2 Bakery. Any single serve dessert.
Tiramisu Cup
One of the better tiramisu lately. Moist, chocolate, a little bit of coffee.
