Tempted

The Mouse spotted these at the Korean grocery store.

Can #2

The Mouse is tempted and confused. Loyalty to SPAM and wanting to try something new. Have you tried either one? Any thoughts? Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Samples

Yesterday at the warehouse, a lot of sampling.

Samples!

Patty? made from poi and taro leaves. Tastes great, looks not so much, kinda looked like cow stuff. Locally made sausage, corned beef (not locally made), and ham (not local). The Mouse’s favorite was the poi patty, and ham. Nom.

Later in the day, one of the meat managers brought in poi, pineapple, and lomi salmon. Why? Dunno. He did not buy it. Maybe from one of the suppliers? The Mouse did not look gift horse in mouth. Hee hee.

Pineapple

The Mouse passed on the lomi salmon, what! Dunno why, but since the operation, The Mouse has a slight aversion to onions, especially raw (used to love ’em). Side effect from anesthesia? Oh well, least of The Mouse’s concerns right now, deal with it later, maybe.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Equal Opportunity

I may seem (by reading the posts) that I’m pro-SPAM and prejudiced against other canned luncheon meat brands. That may be true. Or maybe I haven’t given other brands a try.

Well, I am attempting to be more open-minded. Recently, picked up two non-SPAM cans, “just to try”. Both were on sale.

The first one.

The Meat

Not sure if it was because of the pork and chicken mixture (SPAM is all pork), but I was not too fond of the texture (kind of bouncy, if that makes any sense). Taste was okay, salty, hammy. On the plus side (or maybe minus side) there were bits of fat embedded in the loaf. While not offensive, nothing I would actively search out.

The second one.

Again, a pork and chicken combination. Again texture is a little “bouncy”, not so much “hammy”. Of the two, I prefer this one over the first one. Tasted a little “smoky”. But still …¬†SPAM rules!

So, in the end, maybe there is a reason I am prejudiced toward SPAM. Sorry, I tried.

Eat well.
