Just Pics

Breakfast, after the farmers market. Korean food. Still cool weather here.

The Cat’s. A little too much salted fish in the mix. Took half home for noodle stock.

The Mouse’s order, good taste, a little too “wet”, not enough char, reasonably priced, huge quantity.

Enjoy, Eat well.

The Mouse picked up a couple items from the Korean grocery store for dinner.

Steamed Mandoo

One bite sized, cute.

Seaweed Soup

Warmed up the soup, threw the mandoo and a few pieces of omelet in to gently warm. Slurp. 🙂

Good bowl for cooler weather. Sorry forgot to take a pic. Got too excited.

Bonus, because it was afternoon, each dish was a dollar off. Not a steal, but somewhat of a deal. Hee hee.

The rest of the omelet is lunch today.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Maybe a little lost in translation? Place has been on our “to try” list for a bit.

Started with chop chae, The Cat used to like this stuff, haven’t had it in awhile.

Chop Chae

Not bad.

The Cat also tried Makgeolli (막걸리).

Makgeolli (막걸리)

Description from here: https://www.90daykorean.com/korean-alcohol/

Makgeolli is the original Korean alcohol – but it’s still a favorite in Korean bars and restaurants for good reason!

Makgeolli is a think, sweet rice wine that is sweet and tangy with a touch of carbonation to pull the drink together. In recent years, makgeolli has started becoming popular with the younger crowd when paired with a fruit cocktail to make it slightly sweeter.

Of course, we had to have Bibimbap.

This version was different from what The Mouse and The Cat are used to, rice was served separately. Interesting. The Mouse thinks everything together is better.

Since The Cat seems to have a liking for soups.

Ox Knee Soup

The Cat and The Mouse knows this as beef tendon soup. Maybe a little translation. Not bad, light, tendon cooked sorta soft.

Given the opportunity, The Mouse want to go back to try their mandoo. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Cheap Eats

The Mouse’s dinner, picked up on the way home.

Apple, SPAM Kimbap

The Mouse was kinda craving fries, or tater tots. He picked up this instead.

Fried Mandoo

Kinda fit the criteria, fried, crunchy, salty. A few minutes in the toaster oven, good as new. Hee hee.

Did the mandoo satisfy the craving, kinda sorta. Does The Mouse still want fries or tots? Hmm, thinking, maybe the weekend. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.

No, not the western concept of BBQ chicken, Korean style. Semantics.

Had not had this since leaving the old job. Full order instead of mini. Because The Mouse wanted more veggie sides.

BBQ Chicken Plate

Two scoops of rice (half went to The Cat’s bento), seaweed (partial to The Cat), cucumber kimchi (The Mouse ate), just spicy, not that deep fermented flavor (meh), choi sum (most to The Cat), and simmered potato (all to The Cat), The Mouse finished the chicken. Seasoned just right for The Mouse, salty, but not excessive, still can taste chicken. Hee hee.

Picked up from the local food group/chain, think local version of Panda Express.

The Box

The Mouse thinks the mascot may have been inspired by the mascot of the Olympics when it was held in South Korea?

Off to the farmers market.

Enjoy. Eat well.
