Told ya we might be back.

New Year’s Eve dinner. Murphy’s Bar and Grill, Irish Pub.

Appetizer.

Fish and Chips

Notice the paper liner, made to look like old Irish newspaper. Nice touch.

Malt Vinegar

The proper condiment. 🙂

The Cat’s Eggplant Parmigiana

Looked very saucy and gooey (a good thing).

The Mouse’s Gaelic Steak

Green peppercorn sauce. Nom! Too bad there was no Szechuan pepper in the mix, then the steak would be nom and numb. Hee hee.

Key Lime Pie

One of The Cat’s fave desserts.

Owner was passing out for new year luck.

Black Eye Pea and Ham Soup

He said it was a Southern tradition. In an Irish pub? Go figure (he grew up in Oklahoma). Only in SPAM Land. 🙂

The Cat’s new year celebratory drink.

Prosecco

From The Cat and The Mouse, have a blessed year!

Smooth paths, clear skies, calm waters. Ganbei!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Odds and Ends

Still nothing much going on. The Cat had last-minute deadlines to attend to, The Mouse kinda in neutral gear.

The Mouse’s Breakfast

Raisin and vanilla sugar roll from one of the Japanese/French/German bakeries. Nom.

Fish Snack?

Not quite sure what the purpose of this food is for, snack?, condiment?, Dunno. Sent over from The Cat’s brother.

The Cat’s brother seems to like these little packages of stuff. Must be his busy work schedule and lotsa travel. Eats on the go.

The Mouse’s Lunch

That fish thingy (bottom left corner, leftover bread from The Cat’s lunch (with accompanying olive oil), canned spinach (The Mouse watched way too much Popeye cartoons small kid time).

The fish is slightly dried and spicy, over hot rice maybe, or substitute for chasiu in a soup noodle. Not bad.

Key Lime Pie

The Cat’s self-reward for dealing with the deadlines. The Cat will have to find another venue as Ryan’s Grill is closing next month. 😦

Blessings for a happy, healthy, and hopeful new year!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Not us, one of the chefs. Going to France for we don’t know how long. The Cat took him out for a “see ya soon” dinner.

Place

Place

Chef picked. I think he choose the place mostly for the beer and wine selection. 😉

Bread

Bread

Ryan’s foccacia on the left, Chef’s “leftover” mini baguette’s on the right. He had the balls to ask the server to warm them up for us (he good-naturedly did).

Appetizers

Appetizers

Sweet potato fries, artichoke crab dip, seared ahi. Noms.

The Cat's Fish

The Cat’s Fish

Furikake crusted salmon, choi sum with mushrooms, white rice. The Cat liked.

The Mouse's Kalbi Beef Rice Bowl

The Mouse’s Kalbi Beef Rice Bowl

Seared kalbi marinated beef, Korean style pickled vegetables, fried egg, togarashi, kim chee fried rice.

Angled Shot

Angled Shot

Wait, that’s Bibimbap! The Mouse had a brain fart. Hee hee. Dish was well-made though. Nom!

Dessert

Dessert

The Cat’s key lime pie on the right, The Mouse’s mango sorbet on the left. The mango sorbet tasted more like sherbet, creamy with milk, The Mouse was a little concerned, but in the end, no dairy effect on The Mouse. Hee hee.

Have a safe flight Chef, come back soon!

Enjoy. Eat well.

JJ2 Bakery Buns

Ground peanut bun for The Cat, red bean bun for The Mouse. The Mouse’s bun got a little smooshed during transit.

The Cat tried something different for lunch 8 1/2 Cafe. She had a braised pork belly special. But no pictures, forgot her phone. The cafe has a Saturday prix fixe dinner that supposed to be reasonable and good. We may try next week, depending on The Cat’s schedule.

The Cat had an unexpected crisis (aren’t all crisis unexpected?) at work. Finished later than planned. didn’t want to deal with cooking. The cat also wanted to fill her frequent eater card at Kincaid’s. An unplanned late night nom.

Dinner started well.
