Condiment Driven

I know, most people choose the dish and the condiment(s) follow. Sometimes, The Mouse wants a condiment and the food follows. Such was the case last night.

So far, the food of choice has been beef (no opportunity for pork belly, yet). Mickey D’s has that special sauce that might interfere with the complete Vegemite experience. Luckily, BK is close by.

No Pork This Week

Needed to cook something simple.

Canned Chick Peas

Stir-fry the kale, add one can of low sodium chicken broth, a small amount of curry powder, and the chickpeas.

Refrigerate for at least a day for the flavors to meld.

Kim Chee Muffin?

On Saturday, headed up to Fendu Boulangerie to get Bostock pastries (twice baked brioche, like French toast) for The Cat (picked one up the previous week). Turns out the pastries are a Sunday only specialty. 😦

Saw another bakery open (that wasn’t open the previous Sunday we were there).

Bakery had some unusual goods. And because it was almost closing time, BOGO free. 🙂

This one knocked my slippers (flip-flops to everyone else) off. Natto on puff pastry (bite sized). Awesome.

Would go back just to get these. Even better if they’re BOGO free! Hee hee.

Reboot Almost Complete

Still no pork belly, bacon, nor SPAM (the canned variety, not the internet variety) 😦 … yet … maybe today.

Trying to get in enough roughage to (sorry TMI) … just taking it slow and easy. Hee hee.
