Another unexpected late night for The Cat.

The Mouse got Chinese take-out from the neighborhood chop suey.

Chinese Take-Out

Mongolian beef

Pork with bitter melon

Jai

The Mouse must say for “commercial” jai, this batch was really good. Okay, not as good as Aunty M’s jai, which took days of prep and precise methods, but for time saving, worth it.

Enough food for dinner and two-and-a-half lunch bentos. Good deal.

Enjoy. Eat well.

Jai and Pork Chop

The Cat’s lunch.

Jai

Pork Chop

To The Mouse, seems the dishes contradict each other, or maybe contrast each other. Oh well.

Heading to Chef’s tasting dinner tonight. Gonna be goooood!

Enjoy. Eat well.

Forgot, Panda Express doesn’t have pork on its menu. Ugh!

Since I was there … and had an appointment to get to …

Kid’s Meal

Perfectly proportioned.

Inside Box

A little rice, some vegetable, and sweetfire chicken. Plus a cookie (chocolate chunk) and a small drink.

Not pork, but the chicken did have the sweet, sour, spicy taste The Mouse was craving. And no, the search continues for sweet sour pork.

Late dinner after part-time work. The Cat was stuck in the office, left over lunch for dinner. The Mouse almost made it back the neighborhood hole-in-the-wall for the sweet sour pork, but missed closing “by that much”. Sigh.

Next door to the chop suey standby. On second thought the pork would’ve probably been a bit heavy for late dinner.

Jai

And a bowl of rice. Perfect for late night, filling but not heavy.

The jai, while no comparison to Aunty M’s version, was adequately acceptable. Nice amount of fermented bean curd, fungus, mushrooms, and fresh veggies. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

Passed by this place for decades.

Front

Only tried it a couple of months ago (cash only), take-out roast duck. Not bad, it is what it is, Chinese fast food in a “strip” mall.

Last night, instead of cooking.

Take-Out Din Din

Fried rice, jai, and stuffed bitter melon. Very decent. Sorta “authentic” in a “chop suey” kinda way. Hee hee.

Dinner with the cuzs tonight. Wagyu burger, here we come.

Enjoy. Eat well.
