The Cat and The Mouse a little cabin fever, ventured to the neighborhood Italian cafe (new-ish owner, new-ish chef, new-ish menu).

The Cat tried one new chef’s additions.

Porchetta

Roasted red potatoes, sauteed kale.

The porchetta was a chunk of pork belly (The Mouse not complaining 🙂 ). Only other time The Cat tried porchetta, it was in a sandwich and the meat was chopped with the crispy skin. Three decent meals out of the dish.

The Mouse went with a tried and true standard.

Pasta Primavera

Zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, spinach, bell pepper, basil pesto on penne. Mmm, nom. Two decent servings out of this dish. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

Once more, take out from the neighborhood Italian cafe.

The Cat had her “semi” usual.

Gnocchi Primavera

No bell peppers request granted.

The Mouse went for the “custom”.

Penne Pasta with Meat Sauce, Mushroom, Onion, and Meatball Add-On

Nom! Happy Mouse! The Mouse thinks the next iteration will be spaghetti instead of penne. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

From the Italian cafe up the street.

Chef’s Vegetables, Mushroom Risotto

.

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Cinnamon Apple Crisp

The ice cream is supposed to go on top of the crisp, but the servers know us and serve it on the side so The Mouse can partake of the crisp. Dairy issues. Ick!

Enjoy. Eat well.

The Cat used to be a late dinner eater, As The Cat and The Mouse get older, she has learned to appreciate earlier eating, especially if there’s a discount. Hee hee.

The local Italian “caffe” offers a $2.00 discount on everything before 6:00 pm.

The Cat was hungry, she tried the chicken marsala (first time).

Chicken Marsala

The Cat liked. A little on the sweet side (maybe because of the marsala wine), kinda “teriyaki-isn” in flavor.

The Mouse went with standby penne pasta with meat sauce.

Leftovers for lunch! 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.

Linguine Puttanesca

The Mouse being The Mouse, took the “garnish” from the two appetizer plates, “waste not, want not”. Hee hee.

The Mouse’s Plate, Modified

Dish was a little tame for The Mouse, not enough heat. The Mouse added the extra marinara sauce from the mozzarella and black pepper.

Dessert.

Tiramisu

.

Cannoli

“Leave the gun”. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.
