The Cat went to the office yesterday. The Mouse stayed home, helping year-end accounting for one of her clients.

The Mouse’s quick dinner.

Hand Food

Pita bread, slice of SPAM, leftover fatty charsiu from The Cat’s lunch on Saturday, napa cabbage. Everything in the toaster over for five minutes. Mmm. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The local diner chain month special, katsu SPAM curry rice. The Mouse is intriqued. The line to order is out the door. Nope. Second choice, a ramen shop, fried eggplant curry rice. Closed on Wednesdays. Deep sigh.

Plan C, one pot bowl at home.

Bowl

Pasta shells, frozen peas and carrots, tin of sardines, wakame, salt and pepper, and dash of Worcestershire sauce.

Try again today, maybe.

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse still working through Chef H’s gift basket of vegetables and pineapple (the pineapple is yet to be tackled). Yesterday, tiny tomatoes.

Cute Yeah?

After rinsing, The Mouse sprinkled olive oil, salt, pepper, dried oregano, and garlic flakes on the tomatoes and into the toaster oven.

After they were toasted, but not saucy, The Mouse tossed the tomatoes with angel hair pasta and a tin of tuna (packed in oil).

The Mouse’s Lunch

Too bad there were no capers nor black olive in the pantry, but other than that, The Mouse was pleased with his no-recipe try. 🙂

Stay safe and well.

The Mouse had a thought (which could be weird), savory oatmeal. Apparently, The Mouse is not the only one. more than a few pages on the internet. Basically think of oatmeal as a grain, which it is.

The Mouse used a package of instant original (unflavored) oatmeal, dehydrated vegetable, a little bit of white miso.

Ingredients Assembled

Added hot water, stirred, and waited.

Savory Oatmeal

This was very good (The Mouse surprised himself). Think risotto, or rice porridge. Too bad The Mouse couldn’t add cream or cheese. But still good on its own. Best ingredient was the miso. Will definitely do this again. Maybe mushrooms, bacon, sardines maybe?, sauteed onions? fried SPAM? Yes! The list (and The Mouse’s imagination) goes on. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.

Not much happening food-wise.

The Cat’s bowl of noodles.

Bowl of Noodles

Super simple. Chicken bouillon, noodles, white stemmed cabbage, egg. The Mouse took the picture before basting the egg with the broth. More colorful. Hee hee.

Stay safe and well.
