The Mouse usually buys sardines in rectangular tins, tried the round cans before but wasn’t a fan, packed in tomato sauce, not oil. With prices increasing, The Mouse thought to try again. The Mouse adapted, not as bad as he thought. Added capers and pickled turnip to enhance the experience. π
The Mouse can eat sardines and save a bit of coin. Not changing to full round cans but a good alternative. Hee hee.
The Mouse picked up at the grocery store. Ninety-nine cents. Hee hee.
Package
Noodle Bundle
The length is approximately two-thirds the size of the length of what The Mouse is used to. Dunno the significance or reason. If anyone knows, please share. Thank you in advance. π
The Mouse made The Cat a vegetable noodle bowl.
Bowl
Napa cabbage, bamboo shoot, wakame, ginger, salt to taste, sesame oil drizzle.
A throw everything in and hope for the best, no-recipe lunch.
“Salad”
Black-eyed peas, sliced onion, sliced tomato, quick-brined cucumber, canned sardines (with some oil from the tin), salt and pepper to taste, and coconut vinegar. Kind of a Niçoise salad vibe. Hee hee.
Oh and update of the whiskey mash cornbread.
Whiskey Mash Cornbread
Very smooth texture, more like pound cake than cornbread, not too sweet. Texture threw The Mouse off. Not bad.
